Here’s what we wore last week for a night under the stars in Victoria’s High Country.

Lesson one: once the sun drops, so does the temp. Get warm before you’re cold.

Here’s what we packed:

🐏Merino base layers
👖Pants over base
🧥Mid-layer fleece
🧊Insulated jacket
🧣 Beanie + neck gaiter
🧤 Gloves
🧦 Merino socks
🌧 Wind/rain shell

Cold-weather extras that change everything:
→ High R-value sleep mat (ours = 6)
→ Foam pad underneath
→ Down quilt or warm sleeping bag
→ Sleeping bag liner if you sleep cold

Little hacks:
→ Fill a Nalgene with hot water and use it as a bed warmer (lid on tight)
→ Quick jog before bed (no sweat)
→ Protect head + neck = instant warmth boost
