Strength training is taking your sets very close to the point of failure. Not just pushing out 20 reps when you could’ve done another 10.

As a gym owner, it’s something I see done by at least 95% of gym goers.

Learn the technique first, practice pushing to failure whilst maintaining good technique, and then work between 0-2 reps in reserve for your working sets.

This is how you’ll build muscle & get strong in your accessory movements.

Heavy weight + good technique in my opinion will be more beneficial than Lower weight & higher reps 👇🏼

Heavy weights = 4-12 reps
Light weights = 15+ reps

If your goal is to get strong, learn the right technique, progressively increase weight and/or reps each week for 4 weeks on an exercise…

Then change the exercise variation.

Grocery Haul as Personal Trainer & Gym Owner 🤙🏻

As a business owner I cannot spend 3 hours meal prepping 2x per week & so I buy ready meals & prep my food for convenience.

I don’t do this all year round.
Only when I’m on a high calorie amount.

In my opinion if you’re eating under 3000 calories per day I don’t believe you should be eating ready meals.

Incline walking vs Strength Training

Incline walking is great. But it’s not some magic setting on the treadmill that will shed fat from your body.

In my opinion, strength training by lifting weights is a much better way to spend your limited time at the gym.

You’ll burn just as many calories as walking & you’ll get all the additional benefits like an increase in Strength & muscle building.

Do both. But lifting weights should take priority
