"The 7 times SA Sprint Champion, Springbok and Legend of the Pedal Willie Marx, arguably the greatest Match Sprinter the country has produced most regrettably and disconcertingly finds himself in extremely tough times these days.
He has experienced the rapid onset of dementia, and thus needs to be moved up a care level in the Tuniqua Care Facility in George, which he has been resident in for some time now.
The family have sadly exhausted their resources in maintaining Willie’s continued stay there.
Our Legends of the Pedal Benevolent Fund which is administered by LotP Johan Nicol,
has in keeping with their ethos, stepped in to pledge a monthly contribution to these expenses.
