Durban, the M4 belongs to YOU every Cycle Sunday , and the next one is coming your way on 25 October 2026!

From Moses Mabhida Stadium to the Umhlanga turn-off, the M4 Highway transforms from a bustling motorway into a safe, car-free haven for cyclists of all ages and fitness levels.

An initiative created by Shaun Peschl from Peschlsports-Pro Development and proudly partnered with the Pedal Power Association since its 2025 launch, Cycle Sunday promotes wellness, active mobility, safe cycling and the breathtaking beauty of the eThekwini coastline. ☀️

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲?

𝟭𝟬𝟬% 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰: Full Northbound & Southbound carriageways closed from 05:00 to 09:00.

𝗛𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗹𝗲-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Available near Moses Mabhida Stadium & designated Park & Ride spots.

𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: Refreshing water points, hospitality zones, and full medical support along the route.

Dust off those helmets, inflate those tyres and sign up on the Cycle Sunday to secure your entry and collect your access wristband at Cycle Lab, Cornubia Mall.

Entries to the RELAUNCHED aQuelle Tour Durban in Partnership with Domino Foundation Open 9am - 24 August - on Racepass:

As part of the Relaunch we are offering The first 300 entries at R500.00 on the 100km Road Race.

The 2027 Road Race will be a Tour of Durban, following the historical route:
Start at Moses Mabhida Stadium
Through the city to the Esplanade
M4 South along Edwin Swales Drive
Up the M7 to Pinetown
Down the M19 through Springfield
Along Riverside Road
Joining the M4 towards Umdloti
Returning on the M4 to Moses Mabhida Stadium

The route will be monitored by Metro Police and closed to traffic during the race.
Race distances:
100km along the historical route.
45km on the M4 to Umdloti

Dates:
Road Race: 18 April 2027
MTB Race (20km, 45km, 60km): 11 April 2027
