Gameweek 18 Recap

Gameweek 18 delivered plenty of drama as the race for the top and the battle to avoid relegation intensified.

Worcester Villagers held on to the top spot with a convincing 38 – 24 victory over McGregor Rugby. Robertson Rangers left it late to edge Touwpark RFC 34 – 28, a result that lifts them out of the relegation zone and into 9th place.

Meanwhile, Montagu Club's struggles continued as they suffered a heavy 59 – 24 defeat to Young Goodhope Ashton, leaving them firmly in danger as the fight to avoid relegation heats up.

Robertson Town kept the pressure firmly on the leaders after a dominant 47- 8 win over Montagu Club at King Edward Stadium. The heavy defeat sees Montagu Club slip to 9th place, with growing concerns as they edge closer to the relegation battle. Touwpark RFC beat Alberts RFC 51-29 to move up to 7th place.

At the end of Gameweek 15, log leaders Robertson Town produced another dominant display, crushing Swellendam RFC 57–24 at home to stay at the top of the standings on points difference.

League leaders Robertson Town held their nerve to edge out Rangers Robertson 35–32, claiming local bragging rights in a hard-fought derby. Bonnievale Blue Birds continued their outstanding second-half form, coming from behind to defeat Montagu Club 27–20. Worcester Villager left it until the final moments to sn**ch a dramatic 34–33 victory over Swellendam RFC in one of the games of the weekend.

Meanwhile, Young Hamiltons and Swellendam RFC shared the spoils in an entertaining 31-31 draw, with Hamiltons scoring late in the match to earn a valuable point.
Bonnievale Blue Birds maintained their impressive start to the second round by defeating Touwpark RFC 54-31. The victory sees the Blue Birds climb to 9th place on the league table.

Swellendam RFC were dethroned from the top of the table after suffering a narrow 35–31 defeat to Bonnievale Blue Birds. Meanwhile, Robertson Town RFC ran riot, thrashing Alberts RFC 73–31 to surge to the summit of the standings. Touwpark RFC also made a big statement, cruising to a convincing 49–6 victory over McGregor Rugby to climb into 7th place on the log.
