🏃‍♂️☕ MAVERICK COFFEE RUN – THE CAPTAIN HAS COMMITMENT ISSUES! 😂

The Early Birds were up before the sun and knocked out a solid 4 km before the official coffee run! 🌅💪

Then the Captain arrived… and apparently the advertised 5 km was merely a suggestion. 🤣

At the 5 km mark, just when everyone thought coffee was within reach, the Captain casually announced: “Come on, guys, just ONE more kilometre!” 😇

No voting. No negotiations. Just a very friendly dictatorship! 😂

And just like that, the 5 km coffee run became a 6 km coffee run!

☕ Final damage:
Early Birds – 10 km 🏃‍♂️
Rest of the clan – 6 km 🏃‍♀️
Captain – Currently under investigation for false advertising! 🚨🤣

📰 MAVERICKS ARE MAKING HEADLINES ACROSS SOUTH AFRICA! 🇿🇦

Today, Maverick Athletic Club SWD made the George Herald, while our sister club, Maverick Central Gauteng, made the Daily Maverick! 🎉

Two Maverick clubs, two newspapers, one big family!

At this rate, the only thing spreading faster than our club name is the Captain’s ability to add extra kilometres to a run! 😂

Who knows, maybe next week we’ll be on the front page of every newspaper in South Africa! 🤣

Seriously though, what a proud moment for the Maverick family. We’re growing, we’re getting noticed, and we’re showing South Africa what the Maverick spirit is all about! ❤️💪

The afternoon run might have had a small turnout, but that didn’t stop the Maverick clan from showing up and getting those kilometres done! 💪😂

We had some of our regulars and even managed to convince another clan member to join the afternoon madness! 😂

☕🏃 COFFEE RUN — DONE! 🏃☕

Well… apparently the rest of the Maverick clan decided sleep was the better option this morning. 😂😴

But we showed up and got it DONE! 💪

⚡ Janneke and Chrissie were running like someone had stolen their coffee.
🚀 Pieter was even faster — clearly nobody told him this was supposed to be a COFFEE run and not Olympic trials. 😂

And then there are the missing persons…

Karien, Maretha, AJ and Nico — WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?! 👀😂

We are starting to miss your faces… and your suffering alongside us!

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ WELL DONE, MAVERICK CLAN! 🔥

While the Captain was conveniently NOWHERE TO BE SEEN this morning 😂, Pieter and the Maverick clan were out there getting the job done!

A massive well done to everyone who showed up and supported Pieter on the long run. ❤️💪

And you guys had the full menu this morning — everything from 5 km to 18 km! Some kept it sensible… others apparently woke up and chose 18 km worth of Saturday morning suffering. 😂

Different distances. Different paces. Same crazy clan.

And Pieter… thanks for keeping the troops under control while the Captain was absent. 😂 I’m sure everyone behaved themselves and absolutely nobody ran further or faster than they were supposed to. 👀

Well done, Maverick clan! Proud of everyone who showed up and put in the kilometres. ❤️🔥

The Captain may have been missing… but apparently the clan CAN survive without him. 😂😂

And so… 5 lonely Mavericks took on the coffee run this morning. 😂☕🏃‍♂️

But don’t let the small turnout fool you — Pieter C. chose violence this morning. 😳

He tortured the Captain all the way to what was apparently his fastest 5 km EVER! 🔥

There’s just one small problem…

According to Strava, it never happened. 😂

The Captain was so emotionally damaged by the low turnout that he forgot to start his watch. He only remembered 1 km into the 5 km run.

So while the Captain’s legs ran 5 km, his watch only recorded 4 km. 🤦‍♂️

And we all know the golden rule of running:

If it’s not on Strava, it didn’t happen. 😂😂

So the Captain may have run his fastest 5 km ever…
Pieter knows it.
The Captain knows it.
His lungs DEFINITELY know it.

Strava says: 4 km. Case closed. 🤣

Luckily, the morning ended on a high. We found two long-lost souls — one of our Maverick clan members and his wife — who joined us for coffee afterwards. ☕❤️

Small group. Fast run. Missing kilometre. Recovered Mavericks.

Just another perfectly normal morning with the Maverick SWD clan. 😂
