Celtic Manor returns from break to win

Returning from a break over a trip short of her best, Celtic Manor exits the maidens. She is far from the finished article as we look forward to the future.

Ridden by Gavin Lerena who placed her nicely and gave taught her a thing or two in the finish. The daughter of Master Of My Fate, bred by Varsfontein Stud got across the line.

Lovely day to start our season

We sent out three runners to Turffontein on Sunday. It all started with the hugely improved Reece's Wish who has us approaching some features this season.

Ridden by Kabelo Matsunyane, she dropped into last and fired home without being asked any questions. Well done guys.

A big thanks to Larry Nestadt, Gary Player and the Wernars Family for the support. She was bred in partnership by Riverton Stud and Mr Player. The daughter of Vercingetorix has done little wrong.

Set To Music followed up his local debut with another fluent win.

Divesh Ramkhalawon lost his 4kg claim in the process. He rode the son of Oratorio to victory.

Owned by the Wolf Power Syndicate. Well done to Dianne Howell and Ricky Maingard for the win and thank you for the support.

It was also great to see some intent from A Bit Of Class again finishing 4th.

Minerva Fae shows necessary improvement.

It became one runner, one winner at Turffontein as the yard finishes the season strongly. Minerva Fae steps up from her debut second to beat a good field under Gavin Lerena.

Despite a wayward start, the daughter of What A Winter gathered herself up well and kept them at bay.

A huge thanks and well done to John Finlayson. Thanks for the support. This girl looks like a sharp sprinter in the making.

A lovely double at Turffontein on Saturday.

The team had a wonderful day at Turffontein with two winners. It started with Plus Four who just needed not to be unlucky. He was slow away but he mowed them down smartly under Gavin Lerena. Thank you for the winner.

The son of Vercingetorix was bred by La Berg Stud. Well done to owners Gary Player and Dave MacLean. Thanks for the patience. Fantastic to get this boy to win

Then, Pumpkin Pie returned from over 200 days off the course and found a split that probably wasnt there to turn heads in the process.

The son of Buffalo Bill Cody had kept good company and a spell at Mauritzfontein did him a world of good. Thanks to Nigel Page for the hard work.

A huge thanks to Mary Slack and her team at Wilgerbosdrift for keeping the faith in this boy. Hopefully he kicks on. He has wins in the tank. Pumpkin Pie was bred by Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein.

From Hollywoodbets Greyville to Turffontein, the yard fired home another winner as Enflame becomes a seven time winner to finish his prep for the Gold Cup.

Under Gavin Lerena, the only Irish Flame in training made it look easy in his customary languid style.
