I recently taught an myofascial meridian & fascial system introduction workshop to a group of skilled therapists and movement teachers in Stellenbosch.
Tensional strength and Force communication are 2 of the fascial movement qualities we can deliberately train. I notice a lot of talk about myofascial release, self massage and glide. Glide and Fluidity are important too but knowing what you are trying to train, for whom and when, are key. For example if I work with a hypermobile client / patient, doing only glide promoting / release work, can be really destabilising for them. It can feel a little like this tensegrity model collapsing in on itself.
Ultimately we are aiming for a balance between muscle strength & flexibility and fascia tensional strength & adaptability. This will give us a balanced system that is dynamically stable, yet adaptable, has the ability to 3 dimensionally expand, like a tensegrity model. Meaning longevity for our joints, movement ease and essential space for our organs = health.
If you are a movement teacher or manual therapist who would like an in depth understanding of the fascial system and the comprehensive 12 fascia movement qualities we can deliberately train, then FAMO Focus is the course for you.
