Goodwood Rugby Club Goodwood Rugby Football Club is one of the oldest rugby clubs in Western Province. With 82 years of history, we have been promoted to Super League B (SLB).

Through hardship comes success... We celebrated our 80th year of existence in 2021. As a community based club, we are very proud of our heritage. We have been promoted to Super B League in 2024 and have three senior teams and one u/20 team. As management, we realize that the backbone of any club is the youth and their involvement in the game after school. We are therefore committed to encourage yo

ungsters from the surrounding areas to come and join our club, where we will mold them into the new generation of up and coming stars, but more importantly, teach them the valuable life lessons that one can take from the beautiful game of rugby. Rugby appeals to a wide corporate, social and community demographic in South Africa and opportunities have increased significantly due to the past success of the Goodwood Rugby Football Club. Rugby is a fantastic sport for companies to be associated with; it’s rugged, tough and hard. Rugby is about surviving through adversity. In Rugby you go from absolute passion to camaraderie and friendship in the space of a few hours. Rugby builds bridges between communities and strengthens bonds between different demographic groups. Goodwood RFC symbolizes good values like: importance of teamwork, heritage, commitment, speed, discipline, development and a strong desire to succeed. Rugby is a unifying pillar of our country and is a growing popular sport. Investing in rugby is investing in our future and community.

What an incredible day celebrating 85 years of rugby, friendship, and community at Goodwood RFC!

From our junior teams kicking off at 07:30 to our First Team taking the field at 16:00 against our neighbours and friendly rivals, NTK Connect RFC, the day was filled with passion, pride, and unforgettable moments.

A special thank you to our players, coaches, volunteers, supporters, sponsors, Rochelle Ballard and Associates, Schmidhauser, our honoured guests from Western Province Rugby, and the many former members who joined us in celebrating this milestone.

For 85 years, Goodwood RFC has been more than just a rugby club – it's been a family. Here's to our proud history and an even brighter future.
