We, at the Goodwood table tennis club, mourn the loss of one of our members,
Calhoun o Connell, who suddenly passed away yesterday morning. The news comes as a great shock to everyone especially at the club as we still interacted at the meeting Wednesday night where he accepted responsibility of a much needed Club captain.
This is just one of the many things he would do to improve our club. He managed in his own time and money to fix surrounds, nets and whatever he could at the club. He had so many ideas for this year and things he wanted to achieve. We bid farewell to a great person who always had a smile and treated people with the utmost respect.
Rest well our friend and rise in peace where you have no more pain.

Today we mourn the loss of a long standing member of the Goodwood Table Tennis Club , Max Goodman. He was a very private person and enjoyed playing table tennis and one thing he ddnt like about the sport is the antiques and ugliness that surrounded the sport during competitive league matches. He believed the competitiveness should create sportsmanship and not the type of trash talk and insults which had it's head out at many matches . That made him resign from playing league but on a good note...he joined us many nights after practice for a beer or two.. later it became 3 or 4 and entertained us with that special Mad Goodman humour. He was unique and a kind person in every way. We will miss you Max. To the family and friends of Max we mourn your loss.
