Let me explain…
Just over a year ago I was diagnosed with a compressed nerve in my cervical spine.
Today my workout included cleans, rope climbs, handstand walks and box jump overs.
Am I fully recovered? No.
I still have nerve compression.
My right arm is still weaker than my left.
I still get numbness in my index finger.
But there is no way I would be capable of doing this if:
A. I hadn’t built strength before the injury
B. I hadn’t continued to strength train (appropriately) during my recovery
Muscle protects you.
Strength makes you more capable.
It supports recovery.
It improves performance.
It helps prevent falls and injuries.
It allows you to age with confidence and independence.
Exercise isn’t risk-free — yes, injuries can happen.
But the risks of being weak, fragile and deconditioned are far greater.
