MCUSA’s Track Record: Over the past five years, Masters Cricket USA has organized thousands of cricket events for men in the over-40 to over-70 age groups.
New Initiative: This July, under the leadership of Mr. Vinod Motwani, MCUSA will launch a unique new event: a women’s over-40 cricket tournament. Two teams will play each other in a couple of T 20 games and a couple of T-30 games beginning July 17th with the final game scheduled on July 19th. All the games will be played at the Hal & Berni Hanson Regional Park in Loudoun County, Virginia.
Thanks to Mr. Motwani’s efforts this venue will be prepped up to host this unique event which will be the first of its kind in the USA involving veteran women cricketers.
A special highlight of the event will be the participation of two former stars, Ms. Jyotsna Patel and Ms. Meera Subramaniam, both of whom represented India in women’s international cricket, at this marquee tournament in Virginia.
International players participating:
Jyotsna Patel, a former India Test cricketer from Madhya Pradesh, now resides in the United States. A stylish right handed top order batter Jyotsna played for India from 1974 to 1978, during that period she led the Central Zone women’s team.
Jyotsna has been honored and recognized for her professional and recreational endeavors, by the professional organization, 'Who's Who' in 2018–2019. She served as a member of the Happy Wanderer's Indore, M.P. India 1965–1978, and Gujarati Samaj of Tampa Bay, Florida, since 1991.
Jyotsna was appointed as selector for the United States Women’s team in 2023. She currently serves as a member on the USA cricket committee.
Meera Subramaniam is a former Indian women's cricket player who is heavily involved in coaching and managing women's cricket in the United States. Currently based in Massachusetts, she manages and coaches the Chickadees Cricket Club, the first women's leather-ball cricket team in the state. Before her coaching career, she grew up in India—where she played baseball before switching to cricket. She eventually played at the national level in India under the guidance of Indian cricket pioneer Shantha Rangaswamy. Meera is a banking professional currently serving as a Branch Manager at GFA Credit Union in Massachusetts. With strong leadership, customer relationship management, and financial service expertise, she is committed to delivering exceptional banking solutions while fostering trust and meaningful connections within the community.
MCUSA is delighted to have cricketers of such pedigree participate in the first ever Women’s tournament conducted under its auspices. MCUSA media will cover this tournament on its YouTube channel and other social media platforms.
