We have decided to withdraw from the Carolina Pro Late Model Series _ Carolina Crate Modified Series race at North Wilkesboro Speedway on 10/17 and avoid the drama about sealed engines. It’s just too far for us to travel to be turned away. Was really looking forward to running there and being a part of that weekend at such a prestigious venue. We turn our focus to getting the black car ready and finding more speed and consistency in the blue car. We will be running New Smyrna Speedway 10/24, which car should we bring?

Race Recap from New Smyrna Speedway
Had a rocket ship yesterday thanks to Ed. I said it in my interview and I’ll say it again, the guy pours his heart and soul in to the race cars and it shows with the speed we’ve gained week after week.
In the heat race we started 7th and quickly made our way to the front being able to put the car high or low and finished 2nd.
With a 4 car invert we started 3rd in the Feature and by lap 1 we were leading. We opened up a 6 car lead but by lap 15 car started to build free. Around lap 20 we had a good battle for the lead but car was just too loose. We came up 1 spot short again. I feel like we are 1 or 2 small adjustments away from us being in victory lane.
The work didn’t stop after the race last night. We went back to Ed’s shop and unloaded the black car and prep began on that today for North Wilkesboro Speedway Carolina Pro Late Model Series _ Carolina Crate Modified Series race October 17th.

The florida_602_tour_modifieds_ are back in action tonight at New Smyrna Speedway. The Ed Nash Motorsports 16 is ready for 30 laps tonight. Let’s see if we can do 1 spot better than last week and end up in victory lane 🏁

After selling my street stock last November I went up to long island in January and picked up a modified and as of last night she’s finally together and no longer running the Jack Stand 500. Still a few small items to take care of before we get it on track. It’s been a long 9 months of going through this thing from front to back. Can’t thank everyone enough that has helped along the way.

9/19 Race Recap
We’ve made significant gains on the handling and performance of the 602 modified. Saturday was a condensed day for us at New Smyrna Speedway having only one round of practice and no heat races.
We were slated to start 3rd in the feature but the pole sitter elected to start at the rear so that put us on the front row. You get one mulligan so I decided to try and get a jump on the start but it was too much and the start was called back. On the ensuing start we let the outside car go to not get called again.
Driver may have over adjusted a bit and the car was a bit free so I was searching around for grip and faded back to 5th and started getting a feel for what the car needed.
About 10 laps in 2nd and 3rd went around in turn 2. We restarted 3rd and just bided our time finally working over 2nd. By that time the leader had a sizable lead and we just couldn’t gain on him.
Being on old tires and over adjusting the car we were really happy with the day especially since our over heating issue has been resolved.
The grind doesn’t stop as we are back at it this coming weekend for our final race of the year at New Smyrna.
