One thing you can explore on the putting green doesn't require any equipment at all: use your shadow. On a sunny day, set up so you can see your shadow while you putt and watch for movement in your head, legs, or body during your stroke. You might discover something you didn't even realize you were doing. The key is to stay open-minded. Don't be afraid to try something new, experiment, and see what helps you become a better putter. How’s your distance control out on the golf course? When you’re putting from 20, 30, or even 40 feet, don’t get tense because you think you need to make the putt. Your goal isn’t to sink it. Your goal is to get the ball within a 4-foot diameter of the hole. Start with your consistent setup routine, pick an intermediate target a few feet in front of the ball, and focus on getting the speed right. If you can consistently get that long putt within 4 feet of the hole, your next putt should be an automatic in. Before your next round, try this drill on the putting green from different distances. Better distance control means fewer three-putts and more confidence on the greens. This is the next episode in our ABCs of Putting series.

What if consistency is the missing piece in your putting game? Making more putts isn't just about having a good stroke once in a while. It's about being able to repeat the same good habits over and over again. In my latest video, I talk about three areas where consistency matters: how often you practice, how you set up to the ball, and the habits you build before every putt. My setup routine starts by squaring the putter face first, then adjusting my feet to the putter. When you repeat that process every time, you give yourself a better chance of starting each putt from the same position. The Delta Putt takes that consistency a step further by giving you instant feedback on your stroke path and face angle, helping you practice the same motion again and again. You don't need to practice for hours. Start with a few purposeful putts every day and build habits you can take with you onto the golf course. Get yours at DeltaPutt.com
