Ella Langley just made Country Airplay history, and no woman has ever done what she just did.
"Be Her" holds the number 1 spot for a second consecutive week with 31.9 million audience impressions. "Choosin' Texas" sits at number 5 with 24.1 million. And her duet with Morgan Wallen, "I Can't Love You Anymore," climbed three spots to number 10 with 18.1 million impressions. Three songs in the top 10 at the same time.
In the 36-year history of Billboard's Country Airplay chart, no solo woman has ever held three top 10 positions simultaneously. The only other artist to ever do it was Morgan Wallen for a single week in 2023. Ella is now standing in that same company.
KKBQ Houston's program director said, "Four of the top five streaming country songs in Houston are hers. It's an Ella-bration in Houston." Another radio director said it plainly. "Country radio needs Ella and more female superstars just like her."
She is 27 years old from Hope Hull, Alabama, and she is rewriting what is possible for women in country music.
