Beginning Tuesday, September 8, our Westerly-Pawcatuck and Naik Family Branches will once again be open until 9:00 PM Monday–Friday! 🙌

What does a “silent” weekend at summer camp look like? 🤟💙

This summer, Camp Watchaug was once again home to RI Silent Camp, an immersive experience where participants put spoken language aside and communicate using American Sign Language.

For more than 25 years, the Ocean Community YMCA has been proud to partner with RI Silent Camp by providing a place for this unique weekend focused on learning ASL, experiencing Deaf culture, and building greater awareness and understanding of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

We are proud to provide a home for this special tradition and grateful to the RI Silent Camp team for another incredible weekend at Camp Watchaug!

Participants in our Healthy Lifestyle & National Diabetes Prevention Program have shared some incredible successes—from lowering their A1C and reaching weight-loss goals to exercising more consistently and making healthier food choices.

One participant even shared: “I’m no longer prediabetic.” 💙
