In this application, we are looking at level changes: evading a high slash by dropping low and instantly firing back with a counter-slash. You cannot just memorize the form; you have to train the applications through a crawl, walk, run progression and pressure test them against a live drill. (And a quick tactical note on that grip switch you see: it is done safely at long range, never tight in the pocket).

You cannot force a takedown on a fully based, balanced opponent without burning massive amounts of energy. You have to break their structure first. 💥

In ETS Silat, we don’t fight force with force. We manipulate the spine, trap the base, and destroy the opponent’s balance before the drop even happens. Watch the full speed, then study the breakdown. Look at the exact angle of the grip and the foot placement.

You don’t need a wrestling background to drop an attacker in a street fight. 🛑

In ETS Silat, the takedown is just the natural result of a perfect limb destruction. The moment you intercept a bare-knuckle punch with your elbow, their brain panics and their posture breaks. Instead of fighting for grips or muscling them, we simply remove their foundation and let gravity do the rest. Destroy the weapon, then clear the threat.
