Member of the Month — Mary Jackson Orlando
Mary’s goal has never been about a number.
Not a weight on the bar, not a time on the clock. What she came to Cornerstone for was bigger than that — strength, energy, and mobility that let her live her best life. Fitness as a foundation, not a finish line.
The biggest thing standing in her way was the one most people quietly share: time. Life is full, schedules are unforgiving, and the gym is often the first thing to get pushed. Finding a place worth protecting that time for makes all the difference.
She found that at Cornerstone.
From the moment she walked in, the coaches were intentional. Mary uses that word specifically, and it’s the right one. They made her feel welcome and safe — not as a gesture, but as a practice. They took time to answer questions and teach with care. That kind of attention changes the experience of showing up, especially early on when everything is unfamiliar and the learning curve feels steep.
The community carried her through the harder moments. When she doubted herself trying something new, people stepped in — with encouragement, with technical guidance, and when minor setbacks came, with the support to keep going. That’s not atmosphere. That’s people actually showing up for each other.
And it’s working. Mary describes a shift in her attitude — more optimism, more resilience, a confidence that comes from knowing she can push through hard things. That’s the kind of outcome that doesn’t stay in the gym. It travels with you.
She came to build a better life. She’s building it.
That’s Cornerstone.
