BACK FORTY FACT
A whitetail buck’s antlers can grow incredibly fast during the summer—sometimes around ¼ inch per day during peak growth! While growing, the antlers are covered in velvet packed with blood vessels that supply the nutrients needed to build bone.
By late summer, the antlers harden and the velvet begins to shed, getting bucks ready for fall.
