So happy to share that I am now a National Board Certified Health and Wellness coach. Taking a personal passion and turning it into a way to serve others is a joy.

When life seems to be firehosing you with so many things you must do to be healthy, it is hard to filter out what is real, what applies to you and what will actually help you feel better. That is where I am focusing…sustainable change.

made a great showing on this gorgeous chilly morning! We represented in both the 5k and 10k races in the annual . It was a fun morning while supporting many great local charities. Let’s keep showing up for each other. The world needs more of that.

Spartan New Jersey Recap:
Well that was a heck of a race. 10 days before the race, the weather forecast was mid-40s and rain late afternoon. Perfect. On the day…I was grateful that the rain held off for at least the first 90 minutes for my race. I have done cold and I have done rain. This was my first race in cold AND rain. I don’t recommend it. The last forecast had the temp staying in the 40s, but on the day, it dipped into the high-30s and the wind and rain picked up.

Going in, I felt I was prepared for the endurance, but really had no way to predict what kind of pace I might expect. I just prayed for strength and endurance to get me to the finish line safely. 🙏 Oh, and help in keeping my sense of humor throughout. To God be the glory that is exactly how I ended the day.

Medical was pretty busy with injuries, DNFs, and hypothermia. I was fine through the race, but the chill set in as soon as I stopped. The rigs were wet and slippery, I opted for the penalty loops. The carries were long and uphill…muddy and slippery.

Ended the 14-mile course at 15.75 miles and 5488 ft gain. Still had a smile for the camera and a positive attitude all the way to the car with heated seats and steering wheel. Thank you to the guy who gave me a cuppa joe in the lodge!

To all who raced on Saturday, well done! May your memory be long enough to guide your prep for the future, but short enough to hit the commit button once more.
