π«£ WE KNEW IT! Some one finally said it!
"You are right about the bacon. It was one of the highlights of the ride. It has the potential to rival Mr. Pork Chop at RAGBRAI here in Iowa. Below are some excerpts I wrote about the ride.
At the last sag stop which I was planning to go pass arose the smell of bacon. This is not something you ignore. I had to stop. The stop was presided over by a guy in a PORK! t-shirt. His hobby was bacon. No, it was his calling. He raised the hogs, butchered them, cured the bacon and grilled it to perfection. He was a true baconmister. You put your thick slices of bacon between two slices of white bread and enjoyed smoky, salty and umami bliss without getting your fingers greasy. Mom declined and went for the make-it-yourself peanut butter sandwich. I was going for seconds until Mom gave me the look. The one that says, βThatβs enough, Matthew.β And it was.
Thus, ended our fall cycling weekend in Indiana, where the bridges endure, the pancakes flip once a year, aspirations are fulfilled and where we keep coming back because it is good."
It is always in the details, and that is what the team Visit Wabash County and the Dam to Dam Century Ride 2026 | 15β100 Mile Fully Supported Ride Committee focus on... every little detail to make each experience EXCELLENT...right down to the bacon!
