A huge Thank You to 1 of our parent volunteers, Laci Volkers. Not only does she head up our Food Committee, helping arrange our team meals during State, Fall Banquet and Summer Fun Shoot; Laci also donated her time and skills as a photographer with her business Pistol&Lace Photography, to photograph our SV Trap Team this spring. Thank you Laci for your time and support for the Sioux Valley Trap Team.

That's a wrap on the 2026 Spring Trap Season. Yesterday was a gorgeous day in Aberdeen, during the SD State High School Clay Target Tourament. Way different from the crazy, stormy weather we practiced and scored in all season. I am very proud of this years squads. We had 10 out of our 24 SV Trap team memeber register for state.

CONGRATULATIONS to Dylan H !!!
During the State Tournament yesterday Dylan hit his first 25 straight! He received his 25 patch during at State. However, we will be shooting his hat in August, during our Fun Shoot/Spring Awards/ and Fall Registration.

Wow, what a week!!
Tuesday we had our state athletes last practice before the State Tournament this weekend and Levi L. crushed his goal. Not only was he the first SV Trap athlete this year, to hit 25 straight, but he flew by it and went on to hit his Personal Best, 50 straight clay targets! He is now part of a very small group of SV Trap Team Athletes to reach this amazing accomplishment. Congratulations Levi L. !!!

Over 800 student athletes are set to take part in the state trap shooting competition this weekend.

Each year during the State Tournament we like to be able to have our student athletes and families share a meal together between the morning and afternoon session. State families please sign up to bring one of the items in the link. If you are not attending state and would still like to supply something to support our athletes, please sign up and we can pick it up from you on Thur. night/Friday morning. If you have any questions please comment or reach out to our Food Coordinator Laci Volkers.

Tonight we celebrated the end of our Spring Trap season. Athletes,parents and coaches had the opportunity to try 5-Stand, S***t or Trap.🥏

Thank you to Stephanie and the Brookings Papa Johns Pizza for sponsoring the team meal for tonight🍕! It was hot, fresh and so good!😋

Id like to give a huge shout out and Thank You to our coaches and staff: Mike, Dennis, Emmalyn, Nic, Sheila, Allan, Eric, Amy and Bobbi. 🏅 Thank you for donating your time and experience to help guide our team. You are instrumental in the success of our student athletes.

USA Clay Target League is still processing the scores and I hope to know tomorrow, where our athletes ranked in our conference and overall.
