🏐🔥 VICTORIA WEST WARRIORS TAKE VARSITY VOLLEYBALL SHOWCASE #1! 🔥🏐

The Victoria West Warriors put on a show at the Crossroads Sports Center, finishing the day 3-0 and taking the championships at showcase #1. 💪🏆

Led by setter Morgan Ulbrich, libero Tealy Cooley, and outside hitter Kristin Kohutek, the Warriors were clicking on all cylinders from start to finish. Coming off a 38-7 2025 season and a District Championship, this group looks ready to keep the momentum rolling into another exciting year! 🚀

Congratulations to the Lady Warriors! Exciting group reloading. 💥

Kerida Leomiti (Gregory-Portland)

Kerida Leomiti is a junior setter who continues to impress with her all-around game and high volleyball IQ. She does a tremendous job reading defenses and putting her hitters in great positions to score, consistently creating quality one-on-one opportunities for her teammates!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥

Leomiti is also a threat offensively. When she’s in the front row, she has the ability to attack with authority and make defenses pay for focusing too heavily on her hitters. In the back row, she brings solid defense, great ball control, and the composure needed to keep her team running smoothly!!! 😤😤😤

What stands out most is her ability to impact the match in every rotation. Whether she’s setting, defending, attacking, or leading on the court, Leomiti plays with confidence and a maturity beyond her years!!

The future is bright for this Gregory-Portland standout. Kerida is a complete player who influences every aspect of the game and is definitely a name to watch in the years ahead. 🏐

🚨 Freshman Alert: Lola Hornacky – Shiner HS 🚨

Welcome to varsity volleyball, Lola Hornacky!!! 🙌 🙌 🙌

The Shiner freshman is stepping into the varsity game at a young age, and she’s already making her presence felt. Hornacky has been causing problems for opponents all day with an aggressive serve that has consistently put high-quality teams out of system.

For a player this young, her confidence and composure have been impressive. She isn’t backing down from the competition and has shown why the future is bright for the Lady Comanches.

Shiner Coach Nitsch’s formula is simple: play tough competition now, prepare for the postseason, and make a run in November. Based on what we’ve seen today, we fully expect the Lady Comanches to be in the mix once again for a State Final 4 appearance! 🏆

Harper Gerik (Columbus)

It’s hard to believe Harper Gerik is only entering her junior year! 😳

The 5’10” outside hitter is an exceptional athlete who can absolutely get off the floor. From the first whistle, her athleticism stands out and impacts the match in multiple ways. Gerik plays all six rotations and brings a complete game to the court, making her a valuable weapon for the Lady Cardinals!!! 💪💪💪

One of the things that has impressed us most during Showcase #1 has been her serving. She consistently puts pressure on opponents and has shown the ability to change momentum with her play from behind the service line!!! 🔥🔥🔥

With her size, athleticism, and all-around skill set, Gerik has all the tools to play at the next level. For now, she’ll be focused on helping lead Columbus through another exciting season, and we expect the Lady Cardinals to be one of the favorites in Region III!!! 🏆

Keep an eye on Harper Gerik this season, she’s a name you’ll be hearing for years to come. 🤩🤩🤩

Addison Yendrey (Goliad)

The Texas 3A State Championship Player of the Year is in the building! 🏆

Standing at 6’0”, Addison Yendrey has been one of the most dominant players in the area since her freshman season. The Texas A&M University-Commerce commit impacts every aspect of the game and is a major reason for Goliad’s continued success!!!

Yendrey’s versatility allows her to be just as effective from the back row as she is at the net, making her a nightmare matchup for opponents. She controls the court with her size, strength, athleticism, and high volleyball IQ!!! 💥

When you walk into a gym, there’s no mistaking who Addison Yendrey is. Her presence, leadership, and ability to change a match make her one of the premier players in Texas.

The first of four High School Volleyball Showcase events tips off tomorrow at Crossroads Sports Center!

Some of the top varsity programs in our area will hit the court for their first look at the 2026 season, competing in high-level matchups and getting valuable reps before the fall.

Coach Tanya Gonzalez will be at Crossroads Sports Center on Thursday, June 11th, bringing high-level instruction and training to athletes across the area.

Coach Gonzalez is the winningest coach in Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball history and has led the Javelinas to multiple NCAA Division II Tournament appearances while developing numerous all-conference and All-American athletes.

🔥 THURSDAY NIGHT VARSITY HOOPS AT CROSSROADS SPORTS CENTER 🔥

What a night of basketball!!!! 💥 💥 💥

The gym was absolutely packed, the atmosphere was electric, and the competition was at another level! We had multiple nail-biters throughout the night, including an overtime buzzer-beater that brought the crowd to its feet. School vs. school basketball has brought a whole new level of intensity, and these boys were getting after it from start to finish. 🙌 🙌 🙌

🏀 Top Performers of the Night

📷 Shane Davis (Goliad) – Sophomore
Absolutely unstoppable on both ends of the floor. Davis poured in 28 points in each game, attacking the basket, defending, and making winning plays all night long.

Corbin Rosenquest (Goliad) – Sophomore
Finished with 23 points and 17 points in his two games. Knocked down threes, hunted rebounds, and played with relentless toughness. Just an absolute dog.

📷 Matt Cattan (Victoria West) – Junior
A familiar name around these parts. Cattan dropped 23 points, and honestly, that's just another day at the office for him. Consistent scorer who continues to produce at a high level.

📷 Jaleel Callis (Victoria West) – Junior
Put together a strong 21-point performance. Super athletic with a great frame and tremendous upside. Definitely caught everyone's attention.

Jasiah Bacon (Cuero) – Sophomore
Crafty guard who attacks the rim as well as anyone. Bacon finished with 18 points and continues to show why he's one of the toughest competitors around. His game is taking another step this summer.

Nick Bludau (St. Joseph) – Senior
When you walk into a gym, some players immediately stand out—and Nick is one of them. The 6'5" senior scored 18 points and threw down several powerful dunks. He's a major problem in the paint for opposing teams.

Draven Valdez (Victoria East) – Sophomore
Really starting to find his own game. Valdez scored 16 points and shot the ball extremely well. He's made a massive leap this summer and is definitely a player to keep an eye on.

Jackson Bolton (Faith Academy) – Senior
A well-known name in the area and one of the toughest players around. Bolton finished with 15 points and did what he always does—make winning plays and compete.

The talent on the floor, the packed stands, and the intensity of these matchups have made Thursday nights must-see basketball.

We can't wait to do it all again next week.
