Meet WCA Guide George White - George grew up in East Lansing, Michigan where his dad Gil put a fly rod in his hands at four years old and never really gave him a choice. Salmon, steelhead, and trout across the legendary waters of Northern Michigan, fishing wasn't just a hobby in the White house, it was basically the family religion.

Like most teenagers George had other ideas for a while, but moving to Montana for college changed everything. One summer guiding whitewater outside Glacier National Park before his freshman year and it all clicked turns out dad knew exactly what he was talking about all along.

Four seasons with Glacier Anglers later, George made his way back to the Tetons and found exactly what he was looking for at WorldCast Anglers. He loves the variety this fishery offers, the fact that wild rivers never follow a script, and getting to share that unpredictability with the people he guides every day.

Off the water you'll find George at home with his daughters Ophelia and Daisy and their Golden Retriever Cosmo.

We're pumped to have George on the WCA team.

The South Fork keeps on producing incredible fishing opportunities in the greater Jackson Hole area! Big fish are being pulled all over the river right now. With flows around 13,000 CFS, fishing is primarily nymphs and streamers, and the fish are eating. This is exactly what makes the South Fork of the Snake one of the premier fisheries in the Rocky Mountain West.

Moose on the loose! WCA Guide Trevor Wine and his anglers were pulled over (untangling a knot 🤣) when this young Moose decided to take a swim and check them out! While most know the South Fork of the Snake as a famous fishery - it’s also famous for its thriving moose population that frequently roam the river’s extensive cottonwood gallery forests and riparian zones.

FLY OF THE WEEK: Pat’s Rubber Legs is one of the most effective and widely fished stonefly nymph patterns in the greater Jackson Hole area. Originally developed by Idaho guide Pat Bennett, this legendary fly combines a heavily weighted chenille body with lifelike rubber legs that create irresistible movement underwater.

The watersheds surrounding Jackson Hole are home to a prolific population of stoneflies and the Pat’s Rubber legs is the perfect imitation in all shapes and sizes. It’s versatile as a point/lead fly in a traditional nymph rig or dropper under a Salmonfly or Golden stone imitation. This fly pattern should be in your fly box 365 days / 12 months a year!

Meet WCA Guide Curt Hamby - Curt’s passion for fishing started on the lakes and ponds of Texas, chasing bass and catfish long before he ever picked up a fly rod. After earning a marketing degree from Baylor University and spending years in the cycling industry, his love for fly fishing eventually led him west to Colorado and ultimately to the rivers of the greater Jackson Hole region.

With more than 20 years of guiding experience in Wyoming and Idaho, Curt is known for his patient teaching style, deep knowledge of local waters and commitment to conservation. Whether he’s helping anglers learn to read water, land their first trout, or simply enjoy a day on the river, Curt believes the best trips are about much more than the fish. It’s about the people and the places.

When he’s not guiding, you’ll find Curt skiing for a job with , hosting bonefish adventures in the Bahamas or spending time with his wife Shannon and daughter Cadence in Victor, Idaho. If you ask him to pick a favorite piece of water, don’t be surprised if he says Teton Canyon.

We’re proud to have Curt on our staff at WCA - and we don’t think he’s an a$&hole!

The South Fork continues to be an all around strong spring option for fishing opportunities in the greater Jackson Hole area! While most freestones are settling out from runoff and fish like this, we wouldn’t want to be on the water this weekend!
