Meet WCA Guide Curt Hamby - Curt’s passion for fishing started on the lakes and ponds of Texas, chasing bass and catfish long before he ever picked up a fly rod. After earning a marketing degree from Baylor University and spending years in the cycling industry, his love for fly fishing eventually led him west to Colorado and ultimately to the rivers of the greater Jackson Hole region.
With more than 20 years of guiding experience in Wyoming and Idaho, Curt is known for his patient teaching style, deep knowledge of local waters and commitment to conservation. Whether he’s helping anglers learn to read water, land their first trout, or simply enjoy a day on the river, Curt believes the best trips are about much more than the fish. It’s about the people and the places.
When he’s not guiding, you’ll find Curt skiing for a job with , hosting bonefish adventures in the Bahamas or spending time with his wife Shannon and daughter Cadence in Victor, Idaho. If you ask him to pick a favorite piece of water, don’t be surprised if he says Teton Canyon.
We’re proud to have Curt on our staff at WCA - and we don’t think he’s an a$&hole!
