Alright shooters, what an unforgettable weekend we just experienced at the club! Friday’s HomeAid event exploded with energy—over 425 shooters and more than 800 guests took over the grounds all day long. The spirit, the camaraderie, the sheer passion was absolutely electric.

Saturday kept the momentum soaring with an incredible tournament that had everyone sharpening their skills in preparation for the big dance—the California Sporting Clays State Shoot at Quail Point. The targets were challenging, the competition fierce, and the food? Simply sizzling hot and ready to fire you up!

Looking ahead this month, mark your calendars for June 6th and join us bright and early at 9:30 AM for our next Club Shoot—the thrilling “50 50 50.” Just days later on June 11th, get ready to dive into the PITA Multiplex starting at 9:00 AM. And hold onto your hats, because on June 20th, we’re hosting the NSCA Tournament—the Fathers Day 150. It’s packed with action, pulse-pounding targets, and a mouthwatering lunch to keep your energy soaring all day long.

Heads up! The Trap and S***t Club will be closed all morning on **May 25th** as we prep for the much-anticipated Home Aid Tournament. Don’t fret—everything reopens bright and early on **Tuesday, May 26th**!

But wait, there’s more! Starting **Wednesday, May 27th**, our Sporting Clays course will begin to close in stages as we gear up for the NSCA California State Shoot Warm-Up: a thrilling 150 Sporting Clays Main Event.

Hey Shooters!

We hope you all survived the recent windstorm without turning into human tumbleweeds! With rice farmers plowing fields and winds whipping up a Sunday dust storm strong enough to make even the power lines take a coffee break, it’s safe to say Mother Nature was showing off her wild side.

No events this week, so catch your breath — but don’t get too comfy! Next week, we’re jam-packed with action. On May 29th, it’s our annual Home Aid Tournament. We’re excited to have R & K Shooting Supply onsite, stocked up with shooting essentials and those nifty molded ear plugs—because even your ears deserve some TLC when the trigger starts clicking. We’re expecting a whopping 450 to 500 shooters and around 700 to 800 folks buzzing around the property. It’s gonna be a blast!

Then, on May 30th, gear up for the Next NSCA Tournament State Shoot Warm Up: 150 targets, one flight, starting sharp at 9 AM. Heads up — with all this going down, the sporting clays course will shut down starting Wednesday, May 27th, and will remain closed until the NSCA Tournament wraps up on Saturday.

So mark your calendars, charge your ammo, and get ready to shoot straight. Let’s turn those targets into souvenirs!

Last month, our Golden State Shooting Center family lost a cherished member and dear friend, Mark Huff. Mark wasn’t just a familiar face at the club — he was a source of inspiration, always willing to coach, share stories from his rich shooting past, or simply catch up with everyone. His warmth and kindness made every interaction memorable.

Mark’s list of accomplishments is truly remarkable. From being an 11-time member of the All American Trap Team to holding world records in shooting doubles, he set a standard of excellence that few could match. His achievements spanned decades and continents, including over 40 state and Canadian championships and prestigious honors like induction into the North Dakota Trapshooting Hall of Fame. Remarkably, Mark was the only junior to win the Grand American Men’s Champion of Champion title—a testament to his extraordinary talent and dedication.

But beyond his incredible shooting legacy, what stood out most was Mark’s love—his deep devotion to his family, including those not bound by blood but held close in heart. We cherished the updates about his daughters and grandkids; they were a bright light in his life, just as Mark was a shining presence in ours.

We will miss Mark Huff deeply—his friendship, his stories, his passion, and above all, his genuine spirit. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, spread across the USA, as we all grieve together. May Mark rest in peace, knowing he left an indelible mark on our community and in our hearts forever.
