⚾️🔥 WARDOGS 14U | USSSA SEB HIT’EM DEEP CLASSIC RECAP 🔥⚾️

What a weekend in Martinsville, VA! The Wardogs 14U battled through a competitive USSSA SEB Hit’em Deep Classic and showed plenty of grit, energy, and fight from start to finish.

🏆 Wardogs 8 — Maroon Crush 5

The Wardogs came out swinging, putting up 5 runs in the first inning and never looking back. Mason Grubb delivered a big 2-RBI double, while Camden Smith added a key hit as the Wardogs built an early lead. The offense showed great discipline with 8 walks and an impressive 10 stolen bases.

On the mound, Camden Smith got things started with 2 scoreless innings, and Scott Chewning shut the door with 2 innings of scoreless relief, striking out 5. The Wardogs also played clean defense with zero errors. 💪

⚔️ Team Virginia 7 — Wardogs 5

The Wardogs faced a tough Team Virginia squad and found themselves down by seven in the third inning, but they refused to quit.

A huge 5-run fourth inning sparked the comeback, highlighted by RBI contributions from Cooper Haynes and Kedrin Pichardo. The Wardogs collected 6 hits and 9 stolen bases, but ultimately fell just short.

That never-quit mentality is something to be proud of! 👊

🏆 Wardogs 7 — Virginia Diamond Devils 2

The Wardogs bounced back in a big way Sunday, taking control early and finishing with a convincing 7-2 victory.

Camden Smith delivered an outstanding performance on the mound, going 6 innings and allowing just 2 runs, 1 earned. Mason Grubb led the offense with 2 hits, while Lawson Wolf drove in 2 runs. The Wardogs also turned a double play and continued to put pressure on opponents on the base paths. 🔥

💔 Carolina Hawks 6 — Wardogs 5

One of the toughest losses of the weekend.

The Wardogs jumped out to a 5-0 lead and looked to be in control, but Carolina Hawks mounted a late comeback and scored twice in the fifth to take a 6-5 lead.

Mason Grubb had 2 hits, while Scott Chewning delivered 2 RBIs, including a big double. Despite the heartbreaking finish, the Wardogs battled until the very last out.

🐾 TOUGH WEEKEND. TOUGH TEAM. 🐾

The final results don’t tell the whole story. This group showed:

🔥 Big-time offense
⚾️ Strong pitching
💨 Aggressive base running
🧤 Great defense
💪 Resilience when facing adversity
❤️ And, most importantly, a never-quit attitude

With two wins, a pair of hard-fought losses, 19 stolen bases across the weekend, and plenty of lessons learned, the Wardogs continue to grow and compete.

The Wardogs 14U opened their fall season this past weekend at the USSSA SEB Fall Double Play Classic in Martinsville, VA.

Game 1 — Wardogs vs. Blue Ridge Velocity

The Wardogs battled in a tight 3-2 loss. Camden Smith started on the mound and threw four innings, with 3 strikeouts. Scott Chewning and Mason Mabe each collected a hit, while Mabe and Kedrin Pichardo each drove in a run. Cooper Haynes showed strong plate discipline with two walks, and the Wardogs drew six walks overall. Mabe also stole two bases.

Game 2 — Wardogs vs. GBC Wyrick

The Wardogs got on the board first. Scott Chewning started on the mound and worked three innings, striking out three. The Wardogs again showed patience at the plate, drawing six walks, with Trevor Allen leading the team with two free passes.

Game 3 — Wardogs vs. Blue Ridge Velocity

The Wardogs jumped out early and remained within striking distance before Blue Ridge scored twice in the fifth to secure the win. Mason Grubb delivered five innings on the mound, striking out four. Scott Chewning, Carter Ozment, Mason Mabe, Cooper Haynes, and Kedrin Pichardo each collected a hit. Haynes drove in a run, while the Wardogs’ speed was on full display with six stolen bases, including two from Camden Smith.

The WarDogs battled through a competitive weekend at the SWAT UDC Sports / Returf Solutions Championship Tournament finishing with two impressive victories!

⚾ Game 1: WarDogs 9, Carolina Hawks 6
After falling behind early, the WarDogs responded with an explosive eight-run third inning to take control and secure the win. Scott C got the offense started with an RBI double and finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs while also tossing a complete-game effort on the mound. Carter O led the offense with three hits from the leadoff spot, Mason P delivered a key two-run single during the big third inning, and Carico R helped spark the offense with multiple walks. The team showed patience at the plate and aggressive base running throughout the comeback victory.

⚾ Game 2: WarDogs 20, Extreme Performance 10
The bats came alive in a high-scoring offensive showcase. Mason P had a perfect day at the plate, collecting four hits including a triple while driving in multiple runs. Caleb H doubled home two runs and finished with three RBIs, while Scott C also drove in three runs. A massive 12-run fourth inning put the game away, featuring contributions from Carico R, Carter O, Mason M, and Trevor A. On the bases, the WarDogs swiped 11 steals, with Mason P, Mason M, and Camden S all recording multiple steals. Caleb H, Carico R, and Camden S also contributed valuable innings in relief.

⚾ Game 3: WarDogs 2, Carolina Hawgs 8
The WarDogs battled hard in the championship matchup. Trey S led the offense with two hits, while Mason M and Mason P each drove in a run. Carico R continued his strong weekend by drawing three walks, and the defense turned a double play.

🔥 WarDogs Tournament Highlights

* Scott C – Big contributions both on the mound and at the plate, driving in runs and leading from the middle of the lineup.
* Carter O – Sparked the offense from the leadoff spot with multiple hits, walks, and runs scored throughout the weekend.

🐾⚾ SWAT Summer Kickoff Series Recap ⚾🐾
The WarDogs 13U squad showed plenty of grit at the SWAT Summer Kickoff, battling through three tough games and continuing to grow as a team with every inning. The boys competed hard, supported one another, and delivered several standout performances throughout the weekend.

🔥 Carter O got things rolling against the Granite City Bulls with a clutch 3-RBI double and finished the game leading the team in RBIs. Carter also took the ball on the mound and competed hard against a strong lineup.

🔥 Mason M continued to make an impact, collecting a hit and swiping two bases against Granite City while showing his speed and aggressiveness on the bases.

🔥 The defense was sharp in Game 1, turning a double play, and getting strong defensive contributions from Will M, who led the team in fielding chances.

🔥 In the matchup against King Cats, the WarDogs exploded for five runs in the first inning. Mason P, Scott C, Caleb H, Camden S, and Carico R all drove in runs during the rally, showcasing the depth of the lineup.

🔥 Camden S had a productive weekend, collecting hits, drawing walks, driving in runs, and creating scoring opportunities throughout the tournament.

🔥 Scott C contributed both offensively and defensively, collecting hits, driving in runs, and stepping up to pitch against Copperheads Black.

🔥 Mason P finished the weekend strong, going 2-for-2 with an RBI against Copperheads Black after also contributing offensively in the King Cats game.

The boys continued to battle, compete, and support one another throughout the weekend. Every tournament provides opportunities to learn and improve, and this group continues to grow with each game.

The WarDogs 13U traveled to The Shipyard in Charleston this weekend to compete against strong regional competition at one of the top baseball facilities in the Southeast. The boys continued to compete hard, battle through adversity, and represent the program with toughness and effort all weekend long.

• Trevor A brought energy, hustle, and effort throughout the weekend while continuing to compete hard in every opportunity for the WarDogs.

• Mason M earned a Game MVP award and had a strong all-around tournament both offensively and defensively. He collected key hits, stole multiple bases, and even stole home against Down East Pirates. Mason also played clean defense and led the team in fielding chances during Friday’s game.

• Carter O earned Game MVP award and was one of the offensive leaders for the WarDogs throughout the tournament. He opened Friday’s game with a triple, finished 2-for-2 with 2 RBI against Down East Pirates, added multiple stolen bases against Red Clay Athletics, and also contributed innings on the mound during the weekend.

• Will M contributed offensively with a hit against Red Clay Athletics and showcased his speed on the bases with multiple stolen bases against SBA NC East.

• Carico R took the mound against a tough SBA NC East lineup and continued battling throughout his outing against a talented offense.

• Cooper H earned a Game MVP award for his effort and competitiveness during the weekend. He also collected a hit against Archers 13U and continued to provide energy and defensive effort throughout tournament play.

• Camden S battled on the mound against Red Clay Athletics, throwing four innings while allowing only two earned runs. He also showed patience at the plate with multiple walks against SBA NC East and led the team defensively in that game with the most fielding chances.

• Caleb H earned a Game MVP award after contributing offensively and aggressively on the bases. He collected a hit against SBA NC East and swiped multiple bases during the game.

• Colton P provided big offensive production during the weekend, driving in runs in multiple games. He had 2 RBI against Red Clay Athletics and added another RBI hit against SBA NC East.

• Mason P contributed offensively with hits against both SBA NC East and Archers 13U while continuing to compete hard throughout the weekend.

• Scott C consistently found ways to contribute offensively, collecting hits during the tournament and drawing a bases-loaded walk to bring home a run against SBA NC East. He also added a hit against Archers 13U.

• The WarDogs showed aggressive base running throughout the weekend, piling up stolen bases against several opponents.

• Most importantly, the team continued gaining valuable experience against high-level competition at The Shipyard while continuing to grow together as a group.
