🥋 Tip #8 - Keep Moving!

After sitting in a classroom for much of the day, kids need opportunities to MOVE! Running, jumping, kicking, playing, and exercising aren't just ways to burn energy. Physical activity gives kids a positive outlet after a long school day. That's one reason we love seeing students come into martial arts after school.

They can:
🥋 Move their bodies
💥 Burn some energy
🧠 Redirect their focus
😁 Have fun with friends
💚 Leave feeling accomplished

School exercises their brains.
We'll help exercise everything else. 😉

Teamwork

👊 We train together. We grow together.

Martial arts may look like an individual activity, but behind every successful student is a community supporting them.

Students learn teamwork by:
✔ Encouraging classmates
✔ Working through partner drills
✔ Learning from higher belts
✔ Supporting each other during tests and tournaments

When students learn to contribute to a team, they also learn leadership, empathy, and accountability.

Because great leaders know how to work with others - not just for themselves.

🤝 Tip #7 - Practice Making New Friends

New school year = new opportunities for friendships!

But “Go make friends!” isn't particularly helpful advice for a nervous kid. Give them something they can actually practice.

Teach them to:
👋 Say hello first
😊 Introduce themselves
💬 Ask someone's name
🎮 Ask what they like doing
🤝 Invite someone to join them

You can even role-play it at home!
“Hi, I'm ____. What's your name?”

Confidence in social situations is a skill just like anything else. The more kids practice, the easier it becomes.

Did you know 1 in 2 families struggles with diaper need? Babies can use 8–12 diapers every day, and diapers aren't covered by programs like SNAP or WIC.

Most-needed items:�
🍼 Diapers: Sizes 4, 5, 6 & 7
�💛 Pull-Ups: 2/3T, 3/4T, 4/5T & 5/6T
Other sizes AND open packages are welcome!
Drop off diapers in the lobby.

Respect Your Environment

Integrity also means taking care of the places around you. Pick up trash. Put equipment away. Clean up after yourself. These small acts show respect for your school, your home, your dojo, and your community.

Leave every place a little better than you found it.

Challenge this week: Improve one space simply because it's the right thing to do.
