What an AMAZING couple of days! 🎃👻

From our scary Haunted House to our not-so-scary Fun House, both events were a HUGE success!

We want to thank everyone who came out, supported us, and helped make these events so much fun! Seeing the excitement, smiles, laughter, and MANY terrified faces made all the hard work worth it! 😂

And a HUGE thank you to our incredible team who helped build, run, tear down, and bring these events to life! None of this would have been possible without you. The time, energy, creativity, and hard work you put into making these events special means more than you know. We couldn’t ask for a better group of people!

We put a lot of time, energy, and love into making these events happen, and seeing everyone enjoy them makes every bit of it worth it.

And yes, we’re ALREADY talking about what we’re going to do next year! 😂 We’ve got some ideas!

💀 TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT! Our annual Haunted House is back, and we’re ready to scare the living daylights out of you! 😂👻

We’ve been busy turning our karate school into something a little less welcoming than usual. Creepy decorations, terrifying surprises, and plenty of things waiting around corners that probably shouldn’t be there. 😈

Think you can make it through without screaming? We’d love to see you try! BWAHAHAHA! 💀😂

And don’t worry, we’re not completely heartless!

We ARE holding our normal Saturday morning classes tomorrow, so don’t use Halloween as an excuse to skip training! 😂

🥋 Looking for more than just an activity? Come be part of the Touchstone family!

With new students joining us this month, now is the perfect time to jump in, build confidence, and make new friends!

🥋 Four cycles down, one more to go!

With five pillars and five cycles each year, we’ve officially wrapped up our Discipline Cycle and are moving into our fifth and final cycle of 2026… RESPECT! 👊

Over the next 10 weeks, we’ll be taking a deeper dive into what respect really means. Not just showing respect to our friends, family, teachers, and community, but something equally important that often gets overlooked… respecting ourselves!

But before we jump into our new cycle, let’s take a quick look back at what our Discipline Cycle was all about!

And yes, we promise there was plenty of fun mixed in! 😂

From competing at the Diamond National World Karate Championships 🏆 to our KinderKickers passing around a hot potato 🥔, our Vanguard University® leaders sharpening their instructor skills, and everyone kicking things back into high gear as we finish the year strong!

Discipline doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. It means learning how to work hard, stay focused, and enjoy the process along the way!

And now, we’re ready to finish 2026 with RESPECT!

❓When was the last time your child did something hard, scary, or challenging that made you proud, regardless of the outcome?

Maybe they tried something new, faced a fear, stepped onto the competition floor, or simply refused to give up.

At Touchstone, we want our students to be proud of themselves not because they won a trophy or received a prize, but because they had the courage to try something difficult.

Winning is exciting, but the confidence that comes from doing hard things lasts much longer. 💙

Parents, what’s something your child has done recently that made you proud? Big or small, let’s celebrate it in the comments!

What a weekend for Team Valor! 🏆🥋

Our team showed up at the Diamond Nationals World Karate Championships and did an absolutely amazing job!

They stepped onto the mats alongside some of the best competitors in the world, including rising stars who are well on their way to becoming the next generation of world champions.

There were smiles, cheers, a few tears, plenty of sweat, and most importantly, a whole lot of learning and growth. But what stood out to us most wasn’t the competition itself. It was watching this group come together as a team, lift each other up, celebrate each other’s successes, and support one another through the tough moments.

That’s what Team Valor is all about.

Mrs. Koster, Mr. Pierstorff, and Mr. Braker could not be more proud of these athletes. Not just for how they competed, but for how they represented themselves, their teammates, and Touchstone Karate Academy.

To our entire Touchstone family, let’s celebrate these incredible young athletes! They worked hard, stepped outside their comfort zones, and represented our community with pride.

Win or lose, every one of them came home better than when they left. And that is something worth celebrating!

🥋 Reminder: There will be NO CLASSES tomorrow, Saturday, October 10th, as Team Valor, our national competition team, is representing Touchstone Karate Academy in Minnesota at the Diamond Nationals World Karate Championships 🏆

Here’s a little glimpse of the action from Day 1: Our competitors have been giving it their all, supporting one another, and making us incredibly proud both on and off the mats.

And the competition is no joke! Our athletes aren’t just competing against some of the best competitors in the region. They’re stepping onto the mats alongside talented martial artists from across the country and around the globe! What an incredible opportunity to challenge themselves, gain experience, and represent our academy on the world stage.

And we’re just getting started - Tomorrow brings another full day of competition, and Team Valor still has plenty of work to do!

Thank you to our Touchstone families for your continued support. Let’s keep cheering these athletes on as they represent our academy.

This one means a little more to us.

Mr. Goodman has been a good friend of Mrs. Koster and Mr. Pierstorff for years, and for quite some time we’ve been chomping at the bit to get him back on the mats with us. Sometimes it just takes the right reason, and in this case, that reason was his son, JJ.

Recently, Mr. Goodman and his wife enrolled JJ in our Kinder Kicker program. Like so many of the adults you see wearing a uniform at Touchstone, sometimes our own journey, or our journey back, starts because of our children.

And now that we’ve got him back in the building, we’re putting him to work! 😂 You may see Mr. Goodman on the mats from time to time, lending a hand with our very full and VERY energetic Kinder Kicker class.

There’s something pretty special about watching the next generation step onto the mats and seeing it bring their parents right back alongside them.
