This morning I tried something new. One of the senior communities that I visit each Thursday has allowed me to take their residents into their fitness center for a station-based workout once a month. Residents were open to this, but also a bit hesitant and nervous. This morning, we took a break from our traditional strength and mobility workouts and tried many new exercises and equipment.

When our 45 minutes was up ... all 13 residents were smiling, laughing and clapping. Even Mr. Ollie, who just turned 100 years young last week opted to hop on the treadmill. Though he told me that 1.0 MPH was too slow for him! πŸ€ͺ

SPOILER ALERT: I moved 278.6 miles this month! 😳

I may not be running very much anymore but I am still plugging away at 45! This month I am feeling more fit than I have in a long time. I have put an intentional effort into my lower body strength training. And I am feeling the rewards from my efforts. That feels great!

May is always a strong month for me fitness-wise. This month I ran more than I had been running this winter. I am happy to run short once, maybe twice a week if I can swing it. I have been more focused on getting lots of walking in and my three resistance training sessions (separate from classes that I teach) each week.

During the month of May I:
πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ got 13 resistance training sessions in at the gym
πŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈ ran most of a 25K trail race with friends
πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ walked (mostly) and ran a combined 278.6 miles!

Small Group Personal Training for Women (3-6 women; typically 50 yrs & older)

Most Tuesdays & Fridays in June, 5:15-6:15 am, Running Diva Mom Studio
$15/class

Rise and shine and get your workout out of the way early. Women will work with a variety of resistance techniques and equipment as they work on hypertrophy, toning and elevate their heart rate with a station-based workout at Running Diva Mom Studio in downtown Sun Prairie. These one hour medium to high impact classes will be led by a certified personal trainer who will teach participants proper form and basic movement and breathing patterns. This format will be fun and functional in a safe, welcoming environment.

Let me know if you would like this fun group of women. Classes are a $15 drop/in rate for those that you can attend. Message me to commit to any or all of the sessions offerred in June ....

FITNESS FOR ACTIVE AGERS – NEW DAY/TIME for SUMMER
Starts Thursday, June 18 | Thursdays, 2:00-2:45 pm, Colonial Club Senior Activity Center, Sun Prairie

Join Jamie Adcock (Running Diva Mom), a local certified personal trainer, for 45 minutes of enjoyable movement, strength training, balance and posture exercises. Seated and standing exercises will be programmed with the support of a chair.

Payment accepted at class: $5 drop-in rate
