🎳 First Annual JP’s Classic Lanes Charity Bowling Event

Presented in association with the Dallas Chapter of the NFL Alumni Association

JP’s Classic Lanes is proud to announce our inaugural Charity Bowling Event! Join us for an unforgettable evening of fun, fellowship, and friendly competition as bowlers take to the lanes alongside retired NFL pros—all to support vital initiatives across our local community.

Making an Impact Together

100% of event proceeds will benefit the local Masonic Lodge and its community programs, directly supporting:

• Scholarships for graduating local high school seniors

• Child advocacy and support through local CASA programs

• World-class pediatric care at Scottish Rite for Children

Get Your Business Involved

We invite local businesses to sponsor a team from our Thursday Night Commercial League as they go head-to-head with NFL alumni.

($500 for a whole spot or $250 for a half spot, which will result in two businesses sponsoring one team/lane).

Sponsoring a team/lane is a fantastic opportunity to spotlight your business while rallying behind an exceptional cause.

JP’s Classic Lanes will be closed again today to put some of the finishing touches on.

Please be advised we will have some other projects continue over the next couple of weeks, but we will remain open for those!

🎳 Quick Heads-Up from JP’s Classic Lanes! 🎳

We’re taking a brief timeout to make your next visit even better! We will be closed Monday (8/31) and Tuesday (9/1), with the possibility of remaining closed on Wednesday (9/2), while we work on amping up the center for an upgraded experience.

Keep an eye on our page for updates regarding Wednesday’s reopening.

We appreciate your patience and can’t wait to show you what we’re working on!

The 2026–2027 Fall season officially kicked off last night with the Thursday Night Commercial League at JP’s Classic Lanes! It was fantastic seeing familiar faces back on the approach, welcoming newcomers to the house, and greeting returning bowlers after some time away.

Beyond the competition, opening night was about honoring two true legends of our bowling family:

Jimmy “Red” Skelton — 55 Years of Dedication

Red received a special award marking his 55th consecutive season at JP’s Classic Lanes and his 55th season in the Thursday Commercial League. With this milestone, Red is officially the longest-tenured bowler in JP’s history-consecutive or overall. Thank you, Red, for more than five decades of loyalty and sportsmanship.

Robert Spurgeon-2026 JP’s Classic Lanes Hall of Fame Inductee

We were thrilled to formally enshrine Robert Spurgeon for both his remarkable performance on the lanes and his tireless advancement of the sport. Robert’s legacy across Texas bowling is tough to match:

• Leadership & Service: Led the TCBA tournament for 23 years and served as a trusted Dallas BA delegate for over 40 years.

• JP’s Liaison: Acted as JP’s Classic Lanes liaison to the Dallas BA for over 30 years, playing a crucial role in rule revisions, certifications, sanctions, and awards submissions.

• National Competitor: Bowled in 43 consecutive USBC Open Championships.

• On-Lane Excellence: Rolled 3 career 300 games, including one right here at JP’s in 1995.

Behind the scenes, Robert championed and advocated for countless bowlers over four decades. Robert, we are proud to call you a competitor, a leader, a fierce advocate for our sport, and above all, a great friend.

Congratulations to both Red and Robert from all of us at JP’s Classic Lanes, past and present! 🎳

Each team in the league has a shot at winning this 4-pack of tickets, provided each member of the team is current on their dues at the time of the drawing. ✍️ 🎟️

Summer leagues are wrapping up, and our 2026–2027 Fall Season is right around the corner! Whether you're a seasoned regular or rolling with us for the first time, we have plenty of leagues ready for you.

• First up: The Thursday Night Commercial League kicks off the action on August 27, 2026.

• The other familiar leagues will get rolling the week of Labor Day.

• The new Monday Morning Mimosa and Thursday Morning Homeschool Leagues will both begin in October.
