WBET Sturgis WBET is a Sturgis based radio station at FM 99.3, playing great hits from the 1960's to the mid 1980's. We also have Fox Sports Radio on AM 1230.

WBET 99.3 FM is a Sturgis based radio station playing the hits from the '60's and '70's. Super Hits 99.3 WBET also broadcasts area high school football and basketball games and is Michiana's home for Detroit Lions football. Our sister station, Fox Sports Radio 1230 AM, brings you great sports talk, along with Sturgis High School football and basketball; along with the Detroit Tigers, and University of Michigan football and men's basketball.

(BRUSHY PRAIRIE) – It was a back-and-forth battle that saw Lakeland get a win over host Prairie Heights 20-14 in their annual Battle For the Milk Can. Lakeland’s Brady West was 6 of 15 for 92 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception. Kaleb Weimer had 6 receptions for 92 yards and 2 touchdowns. Prairie Heights’ Weston Rasler was 18 of 33 for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns. Connor Sizemore caught 9 passes for 181 yards and 2 scores. With the win, Lakeland improves to 2-1 while Prairie Heights drops to 0-3.

HarmonyFest Set For Sunday In Three Rivers

(THREE RIVERS) – Live music will be on full display Sunday in downtown Three Rivers.

The 33rd HarmonyFest will run from 1 PM until 10 PM. This year’s music line up includes the Lisa Chilton Band starting at 1 PM; the Reverend Jesse Ray at 2:40 PM; then Yolanda Lavender at 3:45 PM. At 4:45 PM Paul Jellico will take the stage with the Kalamazoo Pipe Band at 5 PM and the Bootstrap Boys at 5:35 PM followed by the Chris Canas Band.

This year’s headliners, the Out Of Favor Boys will start at 8:30 PM.

The Kidz Zone will be open from 1 PM until 4 PM. There will be games, arts and crafts, police cars on display along with face painting and more.

Hudson Street Project Starts Tuesday In Coldwater

(COLDWATER) – A road project will restrict access to the Branch County Courthouse.

This week the Branch County Commission agreed to suspend their board rules and formally approved a modified parking plan for the County Courthouse that will start on Tuesday, September 8. This is being done because of the City of Coldwater’s plan to do a reconstruction plan on Hudson Street.

The plan would close access to the Branch County Courthouse from Hudson Street for approximately one month as crews will be replacing the storm sewer.

Under the plan the Branch County Commission approved, employees of the courthouse will be asked to park in the Roosevelt Lot across the street. This will free up parking in the main courthouse lot for visitors along with jurists. A golf cart will be available to get county employees across Pearl Street in case of muddy situations.

The only exit will be on the south side of the main parking lot onto Pearl Street.

The work will be part of a $2.89 infrastructure project.

(BATTLE CREEK) – Additional charges have been filed against Carrie VanDeventer-Douponce.

Calhoun County District Court online court records show that charges of using a computer to commit a crime, and unlawful posting of a message were filed against her on Wednesday. She was able to post a $5,000 bond.

The 49-year-old VanDeventer-Douponce had been out on bond after being arrested on charges of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and Fourth Degree Child Abuse.

Bronson beats Stockbridge 59-6 to get first win

(COLDWATER) – Bronson picked up their first win of the season by beating Stockbridge 59-6 in a Big 8 match up. Bronson’s offense racked up 394 yards rushing and 506 total yards. The Vikings jumped out to a 28-0 first quarter lead. Owen Losinski went 6 of 14 through the air for 112 yards and a touchdown, and also had 12 carries for 12 yards and 2 more touchdowns. Reid Stukey had 12 carries for 199 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ben Stevens had 7 carries for 109 yards and 2 scores. Bronson is now 1-1 overall and in the Big 8.

(WATERVLIET) – After falling in their home and season opener, Constantine went on the road and beat Watervliet 70-20 in a SAC contest. The Falcons rushed for 265 yards on the night, led by Maddix Jancasz who had 3 carries for 64 yards and a touchdown. Brody Bienz had 4 carries for 25 yards and a score while Brayden Bienz was 2 for 2 for 73 yards and 2 TD’s and he rushed for another score. Brody Bienz led the defense with 7 tackles and Isaiah Peters had 6 stops. Constantine is now 1-1 on the season.

(MENDON) – Mendon won their home opener as the Hornets beat visiting Morenci 58-6 in 8 Man football. Logan Stuart led the ground game with 4 carries for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns. Xavior Zinsmaster had 8 carries for 83 yards and 3 TD’s while Zak Iobe had 3 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown. Iobe also led the defense with 13 tackles. Bryce Zagon had 7 tackles as Mendon improves to 2-0.

Jabari Falls had 29 carries for 158 yards and 2 TD’s for Colon including the game winner late in the fourth quarter. Jeremiah West had 13 carries for 76 and 2 more touchdowns along with going 6 for 10 for 101 yards and a touchdown. The Wildcats has a pretty balanced offense with 201 yards rushing and 122 yards in the air. Tyson Rohrer rushed 19 times for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sturgis snaps losing streak, beats Pennfield 27-8

(PENNFIELD) – The losing streak is over for the Sturgis football team. The Trojans beat host Pennfield 27-8, ending their losing streak at 20 games. Prior to last night Sturgis’ last win was October 13, 2023 when they beat Three Rivers 13-12. The contest was scoreless until late in the second quarter when the Trojans first found the end zone as Malachi Warner intercepted a pass and returned it 43 yards. Cristian Alvez had 28 carries for 87 yards and a TD while Beckett Lamb was 3 of 5 for 49 yards and a score. He also had 3 carries for 57 yards and another TD. Beckett Lamb also led the defense with 10 tackles while brother Hudson Lamb and Liam McKinley each had 8 tackles. Sturgis improves to 1-1 on the season.
