Things are looking a lot different heading into waterfowl season this year.
Last season, every Red Dawn shell was loaded on single-stage machinesāone shell at a time. Production was limited to around 100ā120 shells per hour, which meant a lot of long days at the bench, often from 2 PM to 2 AM, just trying to keep up with orders.
Since February, Iāve added three semi-automated loading machines to the bench, and theyāve completely changed what Iām able to produce. Each machine allows me to load between 450ā600 shells per hour, meaning less time waiting on orders and more Red Dawn shells getting into the hands of customers when they need them.
The equipment may have changed, but what goes into every shell hasnāt.
Iām excited for another waterfowl season and, more than anything, grateful to see hunters continue to trust Red Dawn shells in the field. Knowing that something I loaded will be there for the early mornings, first birds, limits with friends, and memories made in the blind is what makes all those long days worth it.
Hereās to another season.
