The Lady Cougars truly made their coaches, parents and community proud on the football field at the Mother’s Day Mash. (Yes, the diamond was created on a football field which added to the challenge by making it hard to focus on the actual diamond while creating some fun sliding on the astroturf).

They went 4-0 for the day as number 1 seed in Gold Bracket winning the championship and securing first place over 16 teams. This alone was an accomplishment.

However, we are most proud of their work as a team. When one girl struggled in an area, her teammates built her up. The championship was truly a hard fault battle with an International Tie Breaker and each girl fought hard to rally and push through the challenges for that win.

🏆🔥 CHAMPIONS! 🔥🏆
Huge congratulations to the Lady Cougars Fastpitch 12U softball team for an incredible start to the season! 💪🥎 The girls went a perfect 4-0 this weekend at the tournament in Christiansburg, VA, outscoring their opponents 55-7!
The championship game was a nail-biter, but the Lady Cougars pulled it off with an exciting 8-7 walk-off win in the bottom of the 5th! 💥👏
Shoutout to Maroon Crush for a hard-fought and competitive game—nothing but respect! 🙌
What a way to kick off the first tournament of the year. So proud of this team! 💙💛

The Lady Cougars have been so saddened to hear of the passing of one of their biggest fans. Darrell Dodson has had an incredible impact on the youth in our community and beyond. He taught our kids so many valuable lessons about games but even more about life and what it means to show others unwavering support. He taught them what it means to push through even when it seems impossible. He taught them that no dream is too small. He taught them that powering through life’s challenges is what makes it worth living. One thing is certain, Darrell will continue to show up for our youth, but now he undoubtedly has the best seat in house.

Your Lady Cougars finished the season strong yesterday. They went 2-0 in pool play entering bracket play as 1st seed. They continued their streak and went 2-0 in bracket play and came home as gold bracket champions! Way to finish strong, ladies! Another big shout out for yet another incredible team sponsor. The Lady Cougars would like to thank Dave’s Tree Service for helping sponsor them this season. The Lady Cougars wore ribbons in honor of Ethan during yesterday’s tournament. Our hearts are broken for Ethan’s cherished family and friends. We also grieve for the loss of a teammate for the Virginia Valor Baseball program. Continued prayers for all those who feel this so sudden loss.
