Meet Annie!
As Uplift continues to grow, I’m so excited to welcome Annie as our new Studio Operations Manager! Annie will be working closely alongside me to support Uplift’s day-to-day administrative operations and help ensure that our students, families, and teachers receive the responsive, thoughtful support they deserve.
While I continue to lead Uplift as its Owner, Founder, Artistic Director, and teacher, Annie will focus on helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes while becoming a warm, familiar face for our studio community. Whether you have a question, need help navigating something at the studio, or simply want to say hello, Annie is excited to get to know you!
Originally from New York, Annie now calls New England home and is loving life in the country. She holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Dance/Movement Therapy and is a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist. Throughout her career, Annie has worked closely with children, teens, adults, couples, and families in therapeutic and community-based settings. Her experience managing complex schedules, communicating with families, coordinating many moving pieces, and helping people feel genuinely heard makes her a wonderful fit for this role.
Dance has always been a meaningful part of Annie’s life. She has taught dance to children and provided dance and movement therapy through arts- and community-based programs.
Becoming a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist was especially meaningful to Annie because it allowed her to bring together two of her greatest passions: movement and helping others connect more deeply with themselves and the people around them.
Annie was especially drawn to Uplift because our mission extends far beyond teaching dance, aerial arts, and acrobatics. She shares our commitment to supporting the whole student and creating a space where every child feels accepted, encouraged, and celebrated for exactly who they are. Annie believes that organization creates a sense of ease, while warmth and connection are what transform a studio into a true community. She hopes every family who interacts with her feels welcomed, respected, supported, and like they genuinely belong.
Outside of work, Annie loves dancing, music, arts and crafts, building LEGOs, and exploring new places with her partner. She is also an animal lover with a very spoiled cat and an energetic dog who keeps her on her toes! Her favorite treats include frozen caramel coffee, chai tea, and anything pumpkin. Families may also be surprised to learn that Annie grew up playing ice hockey, so she has both a dancer and a hockey player side!
During her first season, Annie is most looking forward to getting to know Uplift’s students, families, and teachers; learning the rhythms of our studio; and becoming someone our entire community knows they can rely on.
Please help us give Annie a wonderfully warm Uplift welcome! We are incredibly excited to have her joining us for Season 5 and cannot wait for you all to meet her!
