🧠 September is Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month 🌹
September is Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month, and this month holds a very special meaning for our family and the Bexley Rose Foundation.
A brain aneurysm can happen without warning. Many people don’t know they have one until it ruptures, which is why awareness and knowing the warning signs can be so important.
🧠 Brain Aneurysm Facts
• A brain aneurysm is a weak or thin spot in a blood vessel in the brain that can bulge or balloon outward.
• Many brain aneurysms do not cause symptoms and may never rupture.
• When an aneurysm ruptures, it can cause bleeding around the brain, known as a subarachnoid hemorrhage. This is a life-threatening medical emergency.
• A sudden, extremely severe headache—often described as the “worst headache of your life”—can be a warning sign of a ruptured aneurysm.
• Other possible warning signs can include nausea or vomiting, neck stiffness, sensitivity to light, loss of consciousness, confusion, seizures, or sudden neurological changes.
• Some unruptured aneurysms can cause symptoms such as pain around or behind the eye, vision changes, or problems involving nearby nerves, depending on their size and location.
• Risk factors can include smoking, high blood pressure, certain genetic or connective-tissue conditions, and a family history of brain aneurysms.
🚨 If you or someone around you experiences a sudden, severe headache unlike anything before, especially with neurological symptoms, seek emergency medical attention immediately.

Bexley was a daughter, sister, granddaughter, friend, teammate, and so much more. She had a beautiful heart, a tremendous love for her family, and a passion for softball that brought so much joy to her life.
Her life was far too short.
But we believe her story can help save lives.
