Team Blaze is a triathlon and multisport endurance community for athletes of all abilities in eastern Washington. Since its inception in 2004, the club has been a non-profit organization. Our members range in age from mid-teens to mid-70s. We participate in every distance of triathlon, running, cycling, and swimming events. Team Blaze provides a positive, supportive environment to help members dev

elop a healthy lifestyle through training, competing, and friendship. Club athletes support local races through participation and volunteerism. We give back to the triathlon community and spread the positive Team Blaze message of support and encouragement.

Epic weekend for Team Blaze!

We had an absolute takeover on the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes on Sunday, and on Saturday many teammates joined for their longest ever Open Water Swim at Lake CDA. Huge shoutout to the incredible crew that rolled up, brought the energy, and made it a weekend to remember!

Swim (Saturday)— We swam from McEuen Park to The Floating Green Dock and back around Tubbs Hill. Huge thanks to Coach Preston for organizing, and a big congrats to all of the participants! We stuck together and swam about 8k, which was the longest swim for most people who joined.

Bike (Sunday)— Many joined Trever at the Trail of the CDA to do a Century ride (Plummer to Smeltzerville and back). Huge high fives and major bragging rights to Finkbeiner, Chatelain, , Garrett for slaying their first century ride. Welcome to the 100-Mile Club! Shout out to Trever for organizing!

Three teammates had a double epic weekend and did both the swim and the ride!

Nothing is more rewarding than that discovery that you can do things you didn’t know you could do. Team Blaze delivers that feeling all of the time to teammates at every level.

Our August Mini-Triathlon is just around the corner! Mark your calendars for 6pm on August 18th at Medical Lake Waterfront Park for our final Mini-Tri of the season.

New and experienced triathletes welcome!

700yd swim
10mi bike
3mi run

If those distances feel like too much together, you’re still most welcome to come and try even just one leg, or shorten the distances to make it work for you! Volunteers are also very appreciated, so you’re welcome to come to just hang out/help out as well :)

We’ve invited CDA Tri Team to join us, so we look forward to meeting some new faces from elsewhere in the Inland NW!

Swim technique can be daunting, but our weekly coached practices make it a whole lot more fun!

We have coached swim practices every Monday and Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:30pm at Witter Aquatic Center through September 9th. All levels are welcome! We have four separate lanes with slightly different workouts (easier/shorter to harder/longer).

Come give it a try! The community is fun, open and encouraging plus it’s pretty stellar to swim in a 50m outdoor pool. If you’re not a member, please fill out the form/waiver linked in our bio.

Remember, after our last swim practice at Witter (September 9th), we will go celebrate a wonderful swim season at No-Li Brewhouse!

In 2027, coached swim practices will begin again in January at EWU then transfer to Witter later in the spring (same as this year).

Join us for some upcoming century rides! Ride 100 miles with us on Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes during the next two weekends.

The Game Plan:
• When: Sunday the 16th & 23rd @ 8:00 AM
• Where: Plummer Trailhead
• The Route: Trail of the Cd’A (out-and-back)

Mark your calendars for August 18th at 6pm… this will be our last Mini-Tri of the 2026 season! As with the others, we will be at Medical Lake Waterfront Park. CDA Tri Team has also been invited to join!

Lots happening tomorrow (Saturday, July 25th)! ☀️

- Tomorrow at 9am is our July Mini-Triathlon in Medical Lake.
Join us for a 700 yard swim, 10 mile bike and 3 mile run and meet at the Medical Lake Waterfront Park. New, experienced and curious athletes of all levels are all welcome!

- After the triathlon, you’re invited to join for a coffee at Roam Coffee House in Medical Lake (this will be at approximately 11am).

- Tomorrow evening, we will go to Rocket Market and listen to the live music starting at 7pm. Bring a lawn chair.
