Not all yoga is the same!

I heard a quote the other day, "Yoga is the cessation of the whirlpool of the mind and emotions in a river of consciousness." That has nothing to do with "looking fancy" and putting yourself into poses that do not feel right in your body! Come join an AUTHENTIC, inward practice that cultivates some space for you.

Classes are Wed, 10am. Thurs, 5:30pm and the 1st Saturday (this week!) at 11am. Texoma Specialty Counseling & Wellness

See you on the mat! Namasté Friends!

Join us this week for our continuing series on the Yamas & Niyamas of Yoga.
Aparigraha invites us to recognize that we don’t need to hold on so tightly. When we release the need to possess, control, accumulate, or cling, we create space for gratitude, freedom, and trust. It asks us: What am I holding onto that I no longer need? And what might become possible if I loosen my grip?
This week's classes: Wednesday 10am, Thursday 5:30 pm and Saturday 11 am! See you on the mat! Namasté Friends!

Savasana can look like the simplest part of practice from the outside.

No shape to hold.

No sequence to remember.

No effort that looks obvious.

But stillness can ask for a lot.

Sometimes the work is letting the body stop moving.

Sometimes it’s staying with the quiet when there’s no next task to focus on.

Sometimes it’s realizing that rest doesn’t feel as simple as it looks.

That doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.

And the goal isn’t to force yourself into perfect stillness.

If Savasana feels restless or uncomfortable, you can make it more workable.

Bend the knees.

Keep the eyes softly open.

Focus on one contact point, like the heels or the backs of the hands.

Savasana doesn’t have to look perfectly still to matter.

Sometimes the practice is finding a version of stillness you can actually stay with.

Man, it makes me so sad that more people around here don’t “get it” with Yoga.

I attended Wanderlust about 10 years ago and it was huge, but not this huge. I can’t imagine being in this kind of energy!

Just wow.

Even in disappointment you can show up for ourselves with love and kindness. NamasFriends. ✌️💫💖🌊

Wow.

Wow.

Mountain Pose can seem like such a small moment in practice.

No big shape.

No sequence to follow.

No obvious effort.

There’s no next pose to move into yet.

And some days, that pause feels full.

The body may feel different than expected.

The mind may be busy.

The day may still be sitting close.

Mountain Pose doesn’t have to change any of that.

It just gives you a moment to arrive before moving on.

Some practices don’t need to carry you somewhere else to matter.

Sometimes they make enough room for you to notice the day you’re actually in.
