Thousands lined the streets of Sand Hills today for the Scituate Beach Association's 2026 Labor Day Parade. The event featured elaborate floats, musical bands, military tributes, and of course decorated houses! The Labor Day Weekend festivities began today in Humarock for the South Humarock Civic Associations's 2026 Horribles Parade. Hundreds lined the streets to see the floats and costumes of the annual tradition that dates back to the 1950s. Get your FIRST LOOK at the 2026 SHS Varsity Football team. Tonight, the team held its first home scrimmage of the season against Silver Lake Regional. The first official game of the season is next Friday at 7 PM on SHS turf against Duxbury. Go Sailors!!

Today, the SHS Boys Varsity Golf team teed off the 2026 season at Widow's Walk Golf Course taking on Pembroke. The team has 5 home matches within the next two weeks. The next match is tomorrow versus Plymouth South. Go Sailors!!!

Take a look at how Scituate voters voted in today's State Primary. In the race for Scituate's State Representative, with close to 50% of voters tallied in all districts (Scituate, Marshfield, Norwell), current Representative Patrick Kearney looks to keep his seat for the 4th Plymouth District fending off competitor Kathleen Baxter. Congratulations to Scituate Police Department Sergeant Gerald O'Brien who is celebrating 25 years of service to our town. Tonight, Sgt. O'Brien was recognized by the Select Board with an introduction from Police Chief Mark Thompson. Along with a gift, Sgt. O'Brien's name was added to a plaque located in the Town Hall hearing room. Thank you for your service Sgt. O'Brien!

Tonight, the Scituate School Committee narrowed the list of names for the new elementary school on the Hatherly site. The committee eliminated Bates (citing historical concerns) and Venus Manning (citing deeper roots with Norwell). The committee will vote on a final name at their next meeting on September 14, 2026.
