Colgate University Equestrian Team

The Colgate English Equestrian Team is a highly competitive member of Zone II, Region III of the IHSA.

The team is coached by Jo Stephenson and practices twice a week at Whispering Hill Farm in Cazenovia, NY. Lessons are an hour long and there are usually three to four people in each lesson. In addition, the team holds larger practices before horseshows. The Team shows eight times a semester at Hartwick, Morrisville, and Skidmore. In order to remain competitive, the team needs riders of all levels.

Tryouts are held at the beginning of each year and riders from beginner through advanced are encouraged to try out for the team!

Yesterday was our annual Senior Sendoff 🥹❣️. It was a great day full of yummy food, drinks, smiles, and pony hugs. We love our seniors!! 💞💞

REGIONALS 2026💞🏆✨😎Congratulations in order for Ally Song and Alex Peto who are officially ZONES bound 🔜‼️❤️‍🔥 Another HUGE congratulations to Brennan Donnelly for winning the Sportsmanship Award for our region💫!! What a day and what a team 🥹💖🤗 Colgate Eq went home with lots of ribbons, lots of 3D printed animals, and lots of love and gratitude 🥰

This weekend’s double header concluded our regular season of competition and we are thrilled to share our 6 regional qualifiers! We are so proud of the whole team for great rides and a fantastic season 💖💪🦄Special shoutout to Ally Song, who was Cacchione Cup Champion of our region this year! So much love for this team and countdown to regionals starts now ⏰🏆☺️

Colgate Eq is back and better than ever!! The team had a day of stellar rides across the board, ending up Reserve 🏆! Special congratulations to Ally Song who won BOTH her classes and ended up Reserve High Point Rider, and to everyone else with great ribbons over the course of the day 💓🫰🏅Always lots of fun with this team!

Colgate Eq had an awesome day at Skidmore yesterday, our last show of the fall season 🤞❤️ Special congrats to Zoe Ryder on winning Ride of the Day with a beautiful round on Gigi 🏆 We had such a fun time with plenty of team bonding time before Thanksgiving 🥂 Happy break everyone!
