Five individuals and one team will take their place in the Skidmore Athletics Hall of Fame during the College's 2026 induction ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 3.

The Class of 2026 includes Dani DeGregory '16, Charles Kromann '05, Thomas E. Lach '87, Meredith Palmer '11, Sarah Cooper Raymond, and the 2013 riding team.

Registration for the Hall of Fame Ceremony, as well as the Thoroughbred Cup, is open. Registration is required, and spots are limited.

After strong performances at the season-opening Duke Nelson Invitational, Skidmore College golf's Derek Thomas was selected as the Liberty League Performer of the Week, while Cooper Guerriere was named the league's Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sept. 13. Additionally, five other Skidmore student-athletes earned mention on the Honor Roll.

Lily Dreyfuss (field hockey), Bryn Ryan (women's soccer), Fletcher King and Mahen Bitkuri (men's tennis), and Catriona Hoelperl (volleyball) were each recognized on the Honor Roll.

Fletcher King and Mahen Bitkuri advanced to the B Flight doubles final to highlight the Skidmore College men's tennis team's season-opening weekend at the Middlebury Invitational.

The Skidmore College golf team finished just three strokes behind host Middlebury as it placed second at the weekend's Duke Nelson Invitational. It's Skidmore's best finish in the event in a decade.

Derek Thomas (73-75—148) finished in a three-way tie for fourth. After an opening round in which he played his final eight holes at 3-under par, he made four birdies on Sunday to secure the top-five finish.

Skidmore's second-place finish is its best since winning in 2016. The Thoroughbreds were fifth in 2025.

The Skidmore College women's volleyball team split a pair of five-set matches Saturday to close the Skidmore Classic at the Williamson Sports Center. The Thoroughbreds outlasted Roger Williams 3-2 (27-29, 25-17, 20-25, 25-19, 15-11) before falling to Oswego State 3-2 (18-25, 30-28, 23-25, 25-15, 10-15) to finish the day at 5-3.

The Skidmore College men's golf team will begin its 2026-27 season this weekend for the Duke Nelson Invitational at Middlebury's Ralph Myhre Golf Club. The Thoroughbreds had their best finish in nine years when it placed fifth in the loaded event a year ago.

Skidmore Athletics mourns the loss of Professor Emeritus Jeff Segrave, one of the most influential figures in the history of Thoroughbred Athletics and a beloved member of the Skidmore community.

Across nearly five decades at Skidmore, Jeff’s impact reached far beyond wins, championships and titles. He shaped generations of student-athletes, colleagues and students as a coach, athletics director, professor, mentor and leader — leaving a legacy that will remain part of Skidmore for years to come.

As President Marc C. Conner shared, “Jeff was indeed one of those rare individuals who, through decades of service and his selfless and exemplary character, truly shaped Skidmore itself.”
