One of the best ways to preserve a hard earned fish is to keep it in ice. Salt lowers the freezing point of water, and a saltwater and ice slurry is the best thing for my clients.

Luckily, the gulf is just salty enough to add enough to make a difference. Also, a slurry provides greater surface area contact and brings the fish temperature down better than just ice alone.

It’s as easy as a bucket of saltwater or a few squirts from a washdown!

Thanks to everyone involved for making me smile. As a reminder, there’s still a bunch of September charter dates open and I think every fish in the gulf is open to keep!
