At Bushikan, traditional Okinawan Karate isn't something we simply teach—it's something we continue to study, practice and preserve.

Our instructors maintain direct relationships with teachers in Okinawa, returning regularly to train, learn and bring that knowledge back to our students here in San Marcos.

For us, tradition isn't about doing things because they're old.

It's about understanding where our Karate comes from, why we do what we do, and passing it on correctly to the next generation.

🇬🇧🥋 England Gasshuku – Day 1: Instructor Training

Back in England! 🇬🇧 This year marks Sanguinetti Sensei’s 19th visit to England to share, teach, and train with our martial arts family across the pond.

We kicked off the Gasshuku with Instructor Training, where everyone puts aside their rank and wears a white belt — a tradition that reminds us to never forget our initial intention.

No matter our rank or how many years we’ve trained, we return to the mindset of a beginner: ready to learn, work hard, and continue growing.
