🚨 RX vs. SCALE: THE BUTTON OF TRUTH 🚨
Let’s talk about the little RX button in Wodify. 😂
RX means “as prescribed.” In other words, you completed the workout exactly as written.
For example, the workout says:
🏃♀️ 1,000m Run
💪 30 Ring Muscle-Ups
Your plantar fasciitis is angry, so you row instead of run, but complete every ring muscle-up.
👏 Amazing workout.
💪 Hard work? Yes.
🔥 Should you be proud? Absolutely.
Can you click RX? Nope. 😂
The workout said run, and you rowed, so you adjusted or scaled it.
And that is completely okay! We encourage scaling so you can choose the movement, weight, reps, or modification that fits you, today.
Here are a few examples:
Pull-ups with a band?
➡️ Scaled.
Step-ups instead of box jumps?
➡️ Scaled.
Fewer reps or a different rep scheme?
➡️ Scaled.
A lighter dumbbell or heavier dumbbell
➡️ Scaled.
The (A)or (S) simply means the workout was adjusted or scaled to better fit your current ability, needs, or circumstances.
But here’s the catch…
The workout calls for a 14-lb wall ball, but you use a 20-lb wall ball because you’re feeling like a superhero. 🦸♀️
🔥 Awesome!
But…
YOU STILL CANNOT CLICK RX. 😂
Why? Because you didn’t do the workout as prescribed.
The RX button isn’t a trophy for who worked hardest. It simply means:
“I completed this workout exactly as written.”
That allows your score to be compared directly with someone else who completed the same workout.
Change the movement?
➡️ Scaled.
Change the weight?
➡️ Scaled.
Change the reps?
➡️ Scaled.
And again…
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH SCALING.
Scaling isn’t “less than.” Scaling is smart training.
So ask yourself:
👉 Did I do the workout exactly as written?
If yes:
🎉 Click that bad boy!
If not:
😈 The Scale button is right there. It won’t bite.
Wodify isn’t handing out medals for clicking RX anyway. 😂
Train smart. Scale appropriately. Be proud of the work you did.
Just please… stop lying to the little button. 😂
