This weekend was nothing short of what we call a great weekend. Both cars were super fast and we were consistent.

Junior Honda
Heat Race 2nd to 2nd
A main 4th to 2nd
We were a little slow in the heat but found our speed in the A main and were catching the leader until we got hung up in some lap traffic that slowed us down a tiny bit. Overall P2 was a good day for this car and for a full field.

Junior 160
Heat Race 4th to 2nd
A Main 2nd to 2nd
This one was a bit of a gut punch. We were super fast and leading when one of our buddies made a mistake and cut down to early taking us out. Unfortunately we had not taught our driver to stop and the yellow never got thrown since all cars regained speed and continued on the track leaving us at the rear and keeping those cars that were the cause from being penalized. Lesson learned on our part for the future. We were still able to drive from the back of the field back up to 2nd where we were short maybe 2ft from the win.

This is what Dixie Shootout Series looks like. It’s the highs and the lows and the pure exhaustion from leaving your whole heart out there and not sparing an ounce of energy on each lap. The road was hard but we finally went to Dixie and put both cars into the A main. During our B main we had a car catch on fire on track right in front of us. Our shield and car were covered in soot and fire extinguisher debris and I thought our judgement would be crowded with some fear after watching that but when we went back green he took off like a rocket 🚀.We also walked away with top 5’s in both cars in the A main. We couldn’t be more proud of our driver. He made some mistakes and tapped wheels while passing with his buddy Bos Racing during the heat and spent the better part of the day beating hisself up until he was just exhausted and fell asleep in the trailer. We didn’t bring home a 🐊 but that’s ok we brought home what we came for. Confidence, experience racing against some of the best national drivers, and 2 top 5’s that mean everything to us and prove that we have made a monster improvement in the past 6 months. Big thank you to Kerry Dowdell for keeping our cars fast and all the hard work this weekend. Jennifer Dowdell for making sure our car is always numbered! Mawmaw Bonnie Sides and Pawpaw Jimmy Sides for making the trip with us and helping out with baby sister and my dog Guss. Henry Albright Racing and Little E Racing for the track walks going over my lines and the advice they always share as top of the line drivers. Also thank you to all my sponsors who help make this happen!

Last night was a last minute decision to race since our Daytona race was rescheduled. Clearly we don’t know what to do with a weekend without racing. Big thank you to papa Joe Restivo who pulled the trailer and did all the heavy lifting. We love you so much! Also to Kyle Beattie for making adjustments to the car as needed.

Qualifying: P6
Heat Race: P3-P1 🏁
A main: P3-P2

We ran a great race but our buddy Wyatt Parsley Racing was fast and consistent out there so congrats to him. We will keep getting out there and getting better! Also made a bet with mom that if I podium I won’t have to wash my tires after the race but she does. So here is the photo for proof that she held up her end of the bargain. Big thank you to our sponsors who help us get out there because racing isn’t cheap but man we love it!

What a day. Started off a little slow in qualifying and made some adjustments. Car found its speed once the track warmed up and the sun came out. We podiumed in 2 races and took home a win in the Jr 160 division. Ran some of our fastest laps. Got to support our best preschool buddy Eli Ralph Eury on his first red rookie race which was the highlight of the weekend. Loved watching Lawson shine with confidence this weekend and offer encouragement to all the new drivers. The friends we make in this sport are everything and the support we felt for his win yesterday made it worth the wait. Big thank you to Mr. Kerry Dowdell for making the car super fast and taking this journey with us for all the heartbreaks and the highs. Thank you to everyone that lended a hand during our pit stops and everyone that checked on him during our medical red. On our last race of the day with 22 laps left Lawson dislocated his thumb. I asked him what he wanted to do and as he dried his tears and he said he was going back out. Track medic agreed and told him to come see him afterwards. He drove 22 laps with it that way and came very close to winning. After the race his papa popped it back into place for him, second momma Leah Zodarecky Kren gave him some Advil and ice while mom finished working the tower. Today it is sore but looks great! That’s the love you find at a race track!
