🇺🇸 IOWA — WHAT A RIDE. 🏁
We came to Iowa for 3 races — one 20-lapper and two 50-lappers — and this trip was almost perfect.
We had speed when we unloaded, but not quite enough. The crew worked their butts off, never gave up, and kept making this kart faster and faster.
🏆 Race 1: Worked my way to the front and brought home the checkered flag!
👑 Race 2: Worked up to P2 before the halfway break, then took the lead after the restart and brought home the King of the Corn!
Race 3 started out great until it didn't after making almost 200 clean laps I had 1 bad one. I missed turn 3, got into the loose stuff off 4, and before I knew it, I caught the pit gate. It was a hard hit, and I’m definitely sore and bruised up this morning.
I’m extremely disappointed because I truly felt like we had a shot to sweep the night. After nearly 200 laps of racing perfectly, one bad lap cost us a shot at the win — and a go-kart.
Thank you to the track crew, drivers, and families who checked on me. That meant a lot.
Racing has its highest highs and its lowest lows. It’s not always perfect in big-time racing, but at the end of the day, we live to fight another day.
Thank you, Tony Belk and Trey Thompson for believing in me and being a part of this journey.
