Happy Wednesday🦋💜 hope everyone’s having a beautiful morning.
Recently, I’ve had a lot of thoughts of how hard it can be to get people through those doors for yoga. There is so many ways to be with your practice, other studios, online videos, creating your own flow, and more. It can be super challenging to get students to your classes. It ebbs and flows. It can be super discouraging to say the least. I know that the way I teach is unique and is different then other places or studios. With a heavy emphasis on slowly warming into the poses, mental health, and the emotional depth I bring into each class. This is something I will never stray from because it’s me, my authentic self, my heart. However, someone recently asked me if I thought sometimes people want to just come to yoga for more of a workout and movement and not dive into all of that? Absolutely they do. There’s studios around for that, and there is so much beauty in the vinyasa and flow of yoga. You can build so much strength, confidence, flexibility, challenge yourself, get lost in the movement, try new things, and really get a good sweat.
I personally feel like yoga has drifted more towards a workout, and a lot of people dont know the history or traditions. They think it’s “just yoga.” That’s far from the truth. But I also want to honor the people who maybe want to keep it more focused on movement, then the emotional depth, because that’s okay too.
So with that, I wanted to share in October I’ll start offering a power vinyasa flow for those who are looking for that. & in my flow classes we do move, we flow, we laugh, we cry, we have a great time.
So maybe the depth and emotional aspect scares some people away. I get it. So i want to add this on for a way to bring new faces in and maybe people who are trying to deepen their physical practice more.
In October, I’ll start to offer a yoga intro special, so you can come try yoga classes to see what fits what you’re looking for. & I know, we all align with who we align with. I want people to find their space and teachers and community they feel they belong in. Love that, but I also hope to build this community and that
