This features an early spring view with our grand dame, Spring Hollow Marquesa, who is looking forward to celebrating her official 30th birthday next month (though honestly we all just round up on January 1).

Stay tuned for an exciting announcement next week regarding how "Q" has decided to celebrate her long life and lasting legacy.

We are in the horse business, not the compost business, but when our horses do their business…it makes Poo For You!

Please consider using CMF's Poo For You Aged Compost for your fertilizing needs. This isn't just raw manure! Our aged compost is made primarily from horse manure and hay, with a little bit of household produce mixed in. We rotate it through our 3 bay compost bin and then let it “cook” a bit longer in long rows. The entire process takes about five to eight months, and the result is a rich, earthy compost perfect for gardens, beds and other similar uses.

Self-serve bags are available "grab and go" style roadside ($5 each, ~30 pounds) or 1/2 yard tractor bucket scoops available by appointment (after 5 PM M-F, weekends).

Cold Moon Farm is the permanent home for four senior/sanctuary horses; these are animals whose active riding or competition careers are over, and who often require extra care. ALL MONIES FROM SALES go into our Sanctuary Care Fund. This Fund is used to help to ensure these animals receive the highest standards of veterinary, farrier, and adjunctive support in their senior years.

For this week's , we are welcoming , a tradition we celebrate here at Cold Moon Farm! And just LOOK at the burst of color in our front yard, in the form of wood violets, dandelions, grape hyacinths, azaleas, and other (mostly native) flora.

Giving our pollinators a little extra time to do their work each spring is one simple step you can take to help protect their populations, and ensure the continued survival of some 75% of all flowering plants (source: National Park Service).
