This tournament is going to be BANANAS! 🍌 🍌

Wood bats, wacky rules, short fields, what else do you need? What could be the last softball tournament of the year, why not try and win a turkey for Thanksgiving? Oh, and the trophy will be nice too!

In true 'Wally's Worlds' fashion, there will be some donations being made.
-The first is a sizeable portion of non-perishable items to the Wakefield Food Pantry. This will help those in need for Thanksgiving and beyond.
-The second is a monetary donation to help the Wakefield Ballfields. This facility is used for many youth programs and the fields could all use safer equipment.

Sign ups will be done through the link below, but COACHES, please reach out to me to secure a spot as space is limited! Every single player will need to register using the link, for liability purposes. I can work with you all to get everybody squared away.

What a tournament! I'd like to start off by saying thank you to everyone that signed up to play. Without interest, we don't have a tournament. Thank you especially to Brian 'Tutty' Tutt, Ricky Spurlin, and John McDonough for umping all day. Thank you to all the people that came down in support of the players and tournament. It was a great day! Thanks to Tighe for a billion pictures!

I wanted to do something different this year and pay a little respect to a generation I grew up watching play. Thankfully we were able to make that happen yesterday. We only had 3 or 4 bats break all day, not bad using old school white blue dots! With 6 teams, we were able to give everyone 3 games for signing up. And of course we saw an 'IF' game in the finals. At the end of it, Cruise Control led by Aaron Denis came out the victors of Wally's Worlds. They earned the $500 cash prize. Aaron kept his entry fee back and donated to $200 profit back to the cause. They also won Wally's Worlds hoodies, thanks to Donyell Garcia of Big Dawg Apparel out of Connecticut. And finally, they got to raise the Wally Cup! The MVP this year was Mike Plentzas, who earned a pair of batting gloves, courtesy of Richie Laganierre of Ascend Athletics out of New York.

In true proper Wally's Worlds fashion, I like to make a donation to someone in need or some organization I feel changes people's lives. This year I chose both of those. A family friend of ours travels internationally to give free dental care to those in need. Thanks to Ali Carignan and her '1000 Smiles' staff, we are able to donate $475! The other donation will be $250 to Legacy Lane Farm out of Stratham, NH. They are a donation led farm offering educational functions and parties. They gave us a very hands-on birthday party for our young children and it was one of the best parties we've had yet.

The Golden Era style of Wally's Worlds kicks off at 8 AM tomorrow morning. There will be pool play at Riverside Park and Paradise Park. The bracket will then be played at Riverside Park only with the first two games being single elimination "Play-In" style games. The winners of those two games will move into a double elimination bracket with the two Pool winners. From there the 4 teams will battle for the grand prize of $500, One-of-a-kind Wally's Worlds hoodies, and the ever coveted Wally Cup! It should be a great day of ball! Come down and support anyway possible. I intend to donate earnings to two separate entities in proper Wally's Worlds fashion. Thank you all and good luck! 🥎🏆🍾

In light of the tournament being canceled, a few people reached out and asked if they could still donate and help out. With permission from Mike and his family, I have been given Mike's venmo. I'd like to thank those who reached out and offered to help. And to anyone else who helps out as that was my main goal from the very beginning. A tournament being canceled is no big deal, but canceling on someone in need is, and here is an opportunity to help out. Thank you all again!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, a family has been dealt a tough hand and could use our help. The father of Michael Williams has lost his foot and will be out of work for a while until they can afford a prosthetic foot. Please join for a great tournament and a better cause!
