Probably one of the toughest calls to make so far 🧐 The first loop of the video is in iPhone slow-mo. The following replays are progressively slower, but we don’t have the time to import the video to another app, slow it down 10x etc. during a tournament. Playing 9-ball, are you calling good hit or foul?

We had a full field of 32 players for our $200 Entry 550 & Under 9-Ball Tournament that went down at The Wharf on 10/24. Of the 32 players, 10 were BBK first time attendees, and 22 were returning participants. It was a very competitive field with an average Fargo of 522. Thank you to all of the players that came out for this one! A a special shoutout to the ladies that participated: Linda Perez, Veronica Borders, and Melissa Marquette 💪 as well as Mr. Aaron Horvath who drove all the way from New Mexico for his 2nd BBK appearance!

The format for this tournament was race to 6, winner breaks on the winners side and race to 5, alternate breaks on the one-loss side, with a modified single race finals (hotseat race to 6, winner of the one-loss side race to 7). We started at 11am sharp and wrapped up at 1:30am. And for the stats nerds out there, this tournament yielded a TON of interesting results!
🔹35/62 matches were decided by 1 rack or less (including the hill-hill finals!)
🔹31/62 matches were “upsets” on paper
🔹only 1 out of the top 10 Fargos cashed
🔹10/13 players rated 540+ were 2 or 3 and out 🤯
🔹average Fargo of those that cashed (521) was lower than the average of the field (522)
Needless to say, it was ANYONE’S tournament! At the end of the nearly 15 hour marathon, the final standings were as follows:

Congratulations to all of our winners! There were several notable performances in this battle royale! A huge congratulations to our champion, Brian Trejo! Brian suffered a decisive loss to Aaron Horvath for the hot seat, but Pony Boy stayed hungry and came back to meet him again, ultimately reigning supreme . Congratulations also to our runner-up, Aaron Horvath! Aaron had the highest rack win percentage (61%) and performance rating (594) in the entire tournament. He showed tremendous heart, coming back from a 1-6 deficit in the finals to make it hill-hill! Shoutout also to Linda Perez for showing us how much of a grinder she is AGAIN! Linda lost her very first match to Isaac, but she won 4 matches in a row with a score 5-3 to get herself in the money, and wasn’t even done there! Much respect also to Manuel Barrera! Manuel was the underdog (on paper) in every single one of his matches. He fought hard and managed to finish in the cash, an impressive performance with the 3rd highest performance rating in the tournament! 💪

Some of you may have noticed: we kickstarted our new main event 10-Ball Break & Run Pot with $500. At the end of this tournament, the pot totaled $670 ($67 per ball). Joe Miedema was the first ticket. He broke and made a ball, but was left tough on the 1-ball, so he settled for the $67. We will start our BBK 2-Year Anniversary Tournament with the pot at $603. All participants for main events get 1 free ticket in the drawing, and there are plenty of spots still open. We also have our $400 Entry Scotch Doubles 8-Ball Tournament happening December 12th at Shotz Bar & Kitchen with a few spots open 💡

It was a busy weekend for BBK! Started off with a great turnout of 37 players for our 8-Ball Chip Tournament on Friday night. Total payouts over $1,100…not bad for a weekly! Jeremy walked in the joint with something to prove this time, and proving himself is exactly what he did (with 2 chips to spare)! Congrats to him and the rest of this week’s winners! 💪

We’re done with auctions, but we’re kickstarting something new to replace them and keep it enticing for everyone! Every player each main event gets 1 free entry! Spectators welcome to participate as well. If you’ve played in a BBK tournament, you’re eligible for 100% of the pot. If not, you can still shoot for 50% of the pot. We’re starting it off at $500, and drawing 2 tix before the finals of each main event! 👀
