I remember not too long ago when a client told me that I hire “young, inexperienced instructors who aren’t certified.”
As I was getting ready to introduce our newest instructor this morning, that comment popped back into my head, and honestly, it made me smile.
Yes, some of our instructors are young. And? Being young isn’t a flaw—it’s a gift. It means passion, energy, fresh ideas, and a willingness to learn and grow.
What that person failed to realize is that every single instructor at Garage Barre is certified, and many hold multiple certifications. They invest their time, money, and countless hours into continuing education because they genuinely care about providing the best experience possible.
And as for “inexperienced”… that’s an interesting one.
I’ve been in this industry for years, and I can tell you firsthand that experience doesn’t magically appear one day. Every expert was once a beginner. Every seasoned instructor started with their first class. Every successful business owner started with a dream and a lot to learn.
Part of my job isn’t just teaching classes—it’s mentoring the next generation of instructors. It’s my responsibility to guide these women, help them build confidence, share my knowledge, challenge them, and create opportunities for them to grow into incredible fitness professionals.
Because when women support women, amazing things happen.
At Garage Barre ⬇️
We don’t tear women down.
We don’t shame them for being young or older.
We don’t diminish their accomplishments.
We cheer for them.
We mentor them.
We empower them.
That’s the culture we’ve built, and that’s the culture we’ll continue to protect.
So today, I’m incredibly proud of our team. Proud of the instructors who show up, put in the work, continue their education, and pour their hearts into our community.
Never underestimate someone because they’re young.
One day, they’ll be the experienced professional everyone looks up to.
